  1. Worldwide Auctioneers has reached out to me with an offer for AACA members of a free bidders pass and tickets for the auction. If you're coming out to where it's warmer than anywhere else on the continent, this should be of interest. https://worldwideauctioneers.com/bidder-registration/ Promo code: aaca Cheers, Phoenix Metro Region
  2. I believe it to be the original TF. It's not easy to find the 5 buttons and the bezel for the early TF.
  3. I have a '56 Imperial 4dr Southampton with the TorqueFlite trans. It is a future project, so I haven't driven it. I also have a '56 2door with PowerFlite and I'm told by Tom Dirnberger that that's a late production and the 4dr is an early TF. Phoenix, AZ
  4. I've got a '48 New Yorker with the dual heaters. I've never had them operating, but I believe they are untouched under the dash. I can send you pics if that will help. Roger
  5. Markus, I have a similar problem with my 1948 Chrysler with the M-6 and Fluid Drive. I don't know the solution, so I will follow this thread and see if I can also benefit. I've never been able to get the kickdown to work and if I start out in low range, it will "back out" or grind after it upshifts. Once I shift to high range, it works fine. I also read the Service Reference Book on the Imperial Club site and can't say it helped me to understand any better. I'd recommend reading the book "Transmission, brakes, shock absorber tips" Volume 4 number 12 in the 1951 series on the Imperial site as it comes at the transmission from a different angle. I hope we can both benefit from the wealth of knowledge here, as I am also facing the task of putting a Fluid Torque transmission to work in my '52 New Yorker. I've driven a friends' '51 New Yorker and it was a very fun drive.
  6. I've driven my '48 Chrysler New Yorker convert in many parades in Phoenix over the last 25 years.
  7. I saw that load of Caddys from I-40 on my way back from Oklahoma with my next big project, 1952 New Yorker convertible.
  8. My 1948 Chrysler New Yorker convertible coupe has its' HPOF certification, though I'm not sure it would certify under current rules. Roger Irland HPOF Team assistant
  9. A large array at the Very Large Array, Magdalena, NM. 1959 DeSoto Fireflite Sportsman
  10. Then and Now Automotive in Mass. can redo your engine mount. I had the clutch for my '37 Airflow redone by a local shop in Phoenix. I'll second joining the Airflow Club as a great resource, Cheers, Roger Phoenix
  11. Read this alert from SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association) regarding the tariffs that may be placed on imported vehicles and parts. Also, join SEMA to receive their alerts regarding upcoming legislation that may affect you. They cover all national and local issues that affect the old car hobby. http://semasan.com/page.asp?content=aa2018FED3A&g=SEMAGA Cheers, Roger Irland V.P. Legislation
  12. My neighbor found these at a local estate sale. Any ideas what car/truck they belong to? I can find no stamped letters or numbers. I can post more pics if needed. Thanks, Roger Irland
  13. Marty, Mike Petersen, who owns a beautiful '56 Dodge, would be best to ask. Cheers, Roger
  14. I'm helping restore a '28 Victory Six sedan and the upholsterer needs to know what the door panels look like. They had a bad redo in vinyl years ago, and there's no trace of the original to go by. Anyone have pictures to share? Roger
  15. I've lusted after this car since I first read the article in Car and Driver magazine in 1966. I finally saw the car in the flesh at the ACD Museum in Auburn a number of years ago. I'm glad that some of you don't like it as it's less competition for me. I can't quite swing the rent they're asking....
  16. Looking to buy the shop manual for a 28 Dodge Victory Six. I'm helping a friend restore this car. I've checked all of the literature vendors I can think of to no avail. Is anyone selling repros of same? Cheers, Roger Phoenix

    Need your help

    That's 1955 Chrysler Windsor.
  18. I'm helping a friend who wants to restore a 1928 Victory Six sedan. It's had an older "restoration", so we need to do research to determine what's correct. The radiator shell was painted the body color which I don't think is correct. Also, the headlights should be the drum-type.
  19. That's an upside down 1955 Chrysler instrument panel... Roger
  20. The National Awards judges do not nominate cars for the DPC or the HPOF awards. Those nominations are up to the DPC team and the HPOF team. Usually, there are too many good choices to make the nominations an easy task. Speaking from my HPOF experience, Roger Irland immediate past HPOF chair
  21. Thanks for the leads--they're all helpful. Cheers, Roger
  22. Thanks, John. We met at the Airflow meet in Tacoma a few years back. I actually don't know anything about the trans or overdrive, good or bad as I've not had the old girl running since she's been in my care. Just want to be sure she'll transmit all that Spitfire power to the rear wheel when I get the engine back from the machine shop. Cheers, Roger Irland Mopar37206@att.net
  23. At long last, I've pulled the engine from my C-17 and taken it to the machine shop for refurbishment. While everything's all apart, I'd like to take my transmission/overdrive to an expert to be gone through. Would anyone know of a expert in Phoenix? I'm open to other possibilities. Cheers, Roger Irland Phoenix
  24. Thanks, sounds like it's worth a try. Roger
