  1. I have experienced no problems with either.
  2. As mentioned support the engine from the crank end. A friend of mine got his knee broke from a engine on a stand falling on him. A engine stand that rotates by a handcrank would be a good investment which you could use again in future years,
  3. I have a friend who is looking for a complete 2pc windshield for a 1929 Chrysler model75 touring car. If you know of any for sale shoot me a E-mail. Think Spring, Don
  4. I would post this on the Dodge Bros page.
  5. It appears you are correct that your wheel cylinders have been re sleeved. I would buy a wheel cylinder repair kit for each wheel. These are new kits and can be bought by bore size. I have the # for NAPA 1 1/4 bore. I checked my return spring length of my 32 MoPar and it was 5 1/4. Good Luck
  6. Hello JRA, If your 1929 Chryster has a 2 pc windshield could you send me a picture showing the windshield. Attached is my 1928 Q Plymouth. The 1928/29 Plymouths are almost the same body wise. However the 28 used the Maxwell engine where the 29 used the new more robust Plymouth 4 cylinder.
  7. You have a early production 1929. As you see other 1929 Plymouths you will see the block differences I have described.
  8. Hello JRA, Please note in 1929 Plymouth had 3 variations of their engine block. One had no water pump, fuel pump. One had fuel pump added. The 3rd had , water pump, fuel pump. The block casting was different on each engine. Look at your block and see which you have.
  9. Try to narrow your problem down to no spark or no fuel. I would look into the spark side.
  10. I will check my 1928-1932 MoPar springs this week end.
  11. I am always amazed at the collective knowledge of this forum.
  12. If you can't find one, post a picture and dimensions , there are a lot of spare springs floating around.
  13. If this 1929 was produced before late fall look at your distributor drive housing . If it is bolted to the front of the block with two bolts, look for two oil cups on the distributor body. The lower cup oils the bevel gears that drive the distributor. This is the only way the gears receive oil and if you run them dry it will ruin them. Nice Survivor car. I suggest you join the Plymouth club. You will meet great people, receive good knowledge, find parts and save money.
  14. One of the things I like about being a member of this forum is I discover people stranger than me. This gives me more self esteem at no cost. Kind of like visiting a "On-Line" shrink.
  15. Once while driving my 15 passenger van, towing a 24 ft enclosed trailer through a single lane round about, I could have sworn I passed myself.
  16. I believe the condenser also allows the primary field of the coil to sweep the secondary field at a faster rate which then allows the coil to put out 12-14K volts. If you slow down the rate of sweep , the coil has less of a output and does not make enough KV volts to spark the plug. It is my understanding the engine will not start if the condenser is removed. Am I wrong?
  17. Are you saying the compression is 36 PSI. I think you typed in a error.
  18. I would post on the Pontiac Oakland page looking for a puller or what size the thread is. I have lent my MoPar puller out several times with a $125. deposit. If you know your thread size there are several pullers on E-bay. Slow and easy as not to damage your axle.
  19. Not to be "Bragging" but I gave a special lady a box or several different length tie-wrap packages. ( Her girlfriend said to give them back.)
  20. Isn't in interesting how much past information has been lost. There was a day when "Every Kid" in town knew what this tool was for. Thanks for posting.
  21. In reference to these lights does "Self Generating" mean the gas was made inside the lights and not from a remote tank. thanks, Don
  22. I would post on the Chevy page. I would also join the Chevy club and get in contact with a advisor for your year, It will save you money and help find any missing parts and introduce you to interesting nice people.
  23. I would be surprised if anyone has 4 wheel new cylinders for this car. You can get rebuilding kits by using the bore size of the cylinders.
  24. New knowledge is going to be learned from this post. My head is starting to crack..
