(And i folowed the car auction also) what is happening in the world ? they pay 14 milion euro for an old Ferrari ........ . Finally we placed the engine back on the frame . That was again a great moment , i had to put in the new hydraulic valve lifters recently purchased from Bob's , and i noticed that the original valve lifters had a hole in the side for the oil , the new lifters don't have that hole , I called Bob's and they told me that these were the ones that should work ........ can anyone confirm that there is no problem using the new ones without that hole? This is Beautiful .. looks really great ,:cool: this is gonna be some car.... But what dit you do with the dashpanel ? is that a liquid print ? my 41 dashpanels were also very bad and new machine turning was impossible overhere so i found actually in the usa a Machine turning water print .. Which i purchased So i am very curious to the result. goodluck

Back to the Thread again ... ;-) Finally my engine was ready ...hurraaay ...... so time to pick it up at the workshop .. there she is ............. waiting for me to take her home. and just started to get the (49) engine painted ... Yes not red or blue or whatever but grey , we will see how it shows up when it dries . Paul

Thank you mr Earl. I do understand what you mean now. It needs some work and above the money it allready costs that would increase the costs seriously . For me it does not have to be an 100 point showcar . And judging is for me not so important. Its all about the feeling you have with a car. Honestly i like the paintsheme as it is . But ......... i hate rust and bubbeling paint....i saw enough at my 41 ... It stay,s an intresting item that Buick.. Paul

Bert i am learning all the time. Indeed with all the modern systems it is not a garantee that it will work too for the old engines. I ll have some questions about the dampfer valve in the second carburettor some time. So i will send an email to you. . Take care. Paul

i was also ready with the woodgraining and i put some parts of the dash together , [ATTACH=CONFIG]275309[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]275310[/ATTACH] all the switches are also in now so i wrapped the dash in plastic and stored it . I completed the taillights and cleaned them , i was happy to have some spare housings so i couldt make 2 complete ones out of five . [ATTACH=CONFIG]275311[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]275312[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]275313[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]275314[/ATTACH] just finished completing the both wiper mechanism after rechroming [ATTACH=CONFIG]275315[/ATTACH]
