  1. Aren’t these the same fraudulent reproductions available on eBay? I know at least one poor fool who bought one thinking it was a unique original. I hope that you were not screwed with the same scam.
  2. Thank you all for the information and comments, I was lucky enough to pick it up and was hopeful that a car existed.
  3. Make that Bastian, I am not a fan of automatic spell check on my phone...
  4. Hi Terry, it’s good and marked by Bastion Brothers. Took a bit to find the literature that shows the emblem. Here’s a picture:
  5. I recently came across a watch fob advertising a Drexel and was curious to know if any automobiles still exist, I found pictures of the literature online but no cars. Does anyone know of any? Thanks in advance, Mark
  6. I appreciate the comments. My wife & I are looking to both downsize and relocate to North Carolina next year and once it's moved I will wind up driving it everywhere myself.
  7. Pushing this to the top again. I seem to have had more interest from people who want to drop in a flat head 8 and make a 50's rod than anything else - Wish I'd known that before dropping all that cash into the engine...
  8. Can anyone tell me which years and models would have used this mascot? Thank you in advance!
  9. This is a very solid and rust free Model A Ford roadster with an originally installed rumbleseat. The car was a barn find from Iowa and still retains the original interior and character of a true survivor. The top was replaced in 2012 and new side curtains were custom made for her. When I had the motor rebuilt, everything was done right with new Babbitt bearings poured by George King in Connecticut and new components used throughout - if you have had any of this kind of work done you will know the expense involved... Here is a list of work that was done: - All brakes rebuilt - All original shock absorbers rebuilt - New wheel seals front & rear - New king pins & bushings - New aluminum fan (originals were prone to cracking & failure with ugly results) - New motor mount springs & pads - Fuel system cleaned, shut-off and sediment bulb rebuilt as well as the gas gage and original Zenith carburetor - Engine rebuild including new Babbitt bearings, crank ground .020 under, re-babbitted rods, bored .060 over with new pistons, rings, and wrist pins, new stainless steel valves springs & keepers, new manifold & head studs, oil pump rebuilt, new oil pump drive gearing added, new timing gear. - Transmission rebuilt including new sealed front and main shaft bearings, sealed cluster gear shaft, sealed reverse gear shaft, new cluster bearings, new clutch disk, and a new throw out bearing. The car is SOLD Thanks for looking, Mark
  10. This is a very solid and rust free Model A Ford in the rare Phaeton body style which is a 4 door convertible or Touring car. The car came from the estate of Leroy Hunter in Union Maine and appears to have been restored in the 1970's. The car is in need of some refreshing including some flaking lacquer paint on the rear doors and a new exhaust pipe (current one is a replacement style). The interior has one mouse hole, and a bit of a smell from many years storage. She also needs to have the gasoline gauge rebuilt and maybe some other minor tinkering. The car does run, drive, and stop well and the wiring is in working order. The car is currently registered and has been driven frequently this past summer. The top and side curtains are all there but show their age. It is NOT a numbers matching car and is titled by the AA engine that is in it. The car is sold with a valid Maine State warranty title. I'm located around 13 miles north of Belfast in Stockton Springs - Mark Wetherbee XXXXXX Please leave a message if you call, I don't always hear the phone and I usually don't answer unknown numbers... SOLD LOCALLY!!! Thanks for looking, Mark
  11. eBay or Craigslist... need you say any more than that? There are a lot of good sellers and I have bought some pretty good NOS stuff for my car, but a lot more sellers than that are doing a fine job of misrepresenting their stuff like the description of that emblem. What I love is looking thru the Model T Ford parts an seeing Packard and Chevrolet hubcaps listed there along with a bunch of other crap not even close to a T part. Sad, but nothing you can do about it even with this guy on this site. Oh, and Money Pit is wrong - with the damage to the ridges between the colors in the wings, I don't think this could be saved and if it were it would still be extra rough in those areas and not useful for a show car in my opinion.
  12. Yes, all three are currently registered in my name, the T for over ten years, the 29 A for 5 years and the 28 since last August. When I get the Warranty titles they would be in both my wife's name and my own to avoid any probate issues should something happen to me. Good thought and thank you!
  13. I have to ask as my wife and I are planning to relocate down there at some time and I have three cars that may be moved - Maine is a Bill-Of-Sale state for anything over 15 years but I can go thru the hassle of getting a warranty title if it will help. One car is a 1926 Model T Ford I have had for over ten years which is registered by the frame number but has a different engine number from that. The second is a 1928 Model A which is registered by the engine number which is from a later AA Truck and the hidden number on the A frame is under the body if it is even legible. The third is a 1929 Model A that has it's original engine and should not be an issue unless the NC DMV is still wanting to see a frame number - I hate to have to pull the body off to get at them... How bad is this process or should I sell them all off before moving?????
  14. Another of those "I feel dumb today" moments - I drilled the rivet and removed the sleeve and then took off the plate holding the points - I had not been thinking it was a Mechanical advanced distributor - in my defense I have a Ford Model A which is all manual advance and a T which is even more primitive... Looking now at the mechanical advance, it would advance the cam CCW when looking at the top of the distributor. All that said, this was made without a spiral groove to tell me rotation but cant deny the centrifugal advance.
  15. Good idea- I'll pop the rivet out and pull the shaft today!
  16. I bought this distributor in a big lot of Ford stuff at an auction last summer. It is a Twin 6 distributor Auto Lite #IGE 4019 A with service tag reading that it is a LH rotation for 38-40 cars and that new points were added. My question is whether or not this is a LH (Counterclockwise) rotation or if it a RH (Clockwise) rotation. Looking at how the points are, I always thought the rotation of the cam was under the arm from the pivot toward the contact points when actuating the arm (by my thought it is a clockwise rotation). Does this sound right, or better yet, can anyone confirm the rotation and-or application of this distributor? Thank you in advance for anything you can tell me - there is another Forum member interested in a CCW rotation distributor and I do not want to misrepresent this.

  18. Tag reads LH rotation, but looking at how the points are seated it is a clockwise distributor. Thanks for the push MoneyPit - at least now I can load pictures thanks to the few days of site upgrades!
  19. Yes I do still have it - if you send me a PM thru this sight I can forward pictures from my phone.
  20. Ok - this is a longshot, but I figure someone here may just need a set of doors for a mid 60's Valiant... Yesterday, I was moving my Model A into storage at a friends place and we were talking cars, and the "stuff" kicking around his old farm. One of the things in a shed he plans on tearing down is a set of doors for a mid 60's Plymouth Valiant he said he would love to see go to a good home. Problem is, we have no way of figuring out how to ship them, nor do I know if these are anything that someone might need. These are located in mid-Maine about 20 minutes south of Bangor. If anyone needs a decent set of doors (I did not look but was told they were solid) message me an I'll try and get some pictures before snow flies. I don't know what he would want for them, but he is in his 80's and is reasonable on other things.
  21. I have a pair of fair to slightly rough condition brass sill plates if you have any interest. Please message me and I can send pictures from my phone.
  22. Nash Twin 6 distributor Auto Lite #IGE 4019 A with service tag reading that it is a LH rotation for 38-40 cars and that new points were added. Cap is dull but looks to be in good shape, as does the rotor and the points do look fairly new. Bought in a big lot of Ford stuff, and not my thing. $150.00 plus actual shipping from Maine zip 04981. PM or Email thru the forum for pictures. Thank you, Mark
  23. I've always known them as "Carriage Blankets" used in horse & buggy days and carried into early cars. I think there are a couple of "Chase" brand ones in the blanket chest from my great grandparents.
