  1. Leaving a re-enactment once I saw “This ain’t your church’s cannon” on a trailer towing (you guessed it) a cannon... Yes, I know they are spelled differently, but it was funny at the same time.
  2. When I bought my Pierce I reorganized my small 2-car garage and bought a set of skates for the T. This lasted a few months but was far too tight for tearing into the engine on the Pierce when a neighbor offered the garage in a family members vacation homes. Should it get kicked out I would be in some trouble for storage until the Pierce is done (which has taken more than a year longer than first planned and still ongoing). Before you head the word “COVID” we had a plan to move it to an elderly neighbors garage that would give me the excuse to help her out around the house As “rent” and keep an eye out for her... not to mention she grew up in London during the Blitz and is very interesting to have tea with. We all still watch out for her, but from a distance sadly. Anyway, I recently started looking for an enclosed trailer to use as a garage because it would not wind up being a problem with our HOA even though my truck would just barely be legal to haul it empty... so, 8-10k for a mobile garage to hold a T??? Funny how much easier it would be to sell the T because of storage issues...
  3. Thank you for your great post! I think it’s time to change “Questionable” to “Talented”...
  4. If you post pictures of the car we will have a better idea of what you have. As for information, it’s readily available using google... https://www.american-automobiles.com/Maibohm.html
  5. https://auldtech.com/history/ A 3M company for several years and now Auld Technologies.
  6. Even though my wife and I both picked out our presents from Santa (she wanted a painting and I got a Pierce Arrow service bulletin book) I started these a couple months ago as a gift to her. I hadn’t carved anything in over 20 years, and yes I need some practice, but she was both surprised and happy that I thought of something special. It took a lot longer than I expected because of the wood I chose but between it and my Pierce engine I haven’t been bored...
  7. Yes, it sold quickly. There’s now one on eBay but it’s price is daunting. I do not have another...
  8. I’ve had 3 T’s, 2 A’s, and a 24 Studebaker in my past. The Studebaker was easily capable of 60mph but it couldn’t stop worth a dam at those speeds because of having two wheel brakes. That is something else to be very conscious about, safety. I think an A would be a great starter car especially with an overdrive of some kind. They are nearly as simple as the T, but a little more pep and 4 wheel brakes. My wife and I moved from a quieter section of costal Maine to a congested area of coastal North Carolina and I made the mistake of bringing a T along instead of an A... now I am going through a 31 Pierce-Arrow engine as it showed up at the right time and price because the T will get hit if I’m not extremely careful about where I drive it. And yes, after a couple laps around the development it’s no more fun! Good luck, something perfect will come along at the right time.
  9. What I have is a mixture of everything sent to the dealership including several TSBs which were mostly put into the PAS bulletin over the years, but also letters about selling extended coverage (and you thought that was a new thing they were obnoxious about) to how important you presented yourself to a prospective customer. There’s a lot more chaff than you might think, but all the letters are from somewhere in 1929 to 1933 which is mostly the early 8 cylinder years into which my car falls in the middle. Not much on the 12 cylinders which would have been really nice...
  10. Santa (with an eBay hint from me) “found” the perfect gift! When I first bought my Pierce I asked about buying a service or repair manual and was told that they didn’t exist... Obviously it did. No, it’s not a true service manual, but rather a collection of service letters sent to the dealership most of which can be bought on a CD from the Pierce Arrow Society, but still a lot of fun flipping pages.
  11. My first thought was 40 Ford, but I cannot say positively.
  12. Funny, but I had one of the 1980 Thunderbird cars in college and it was great. Even though it was a 6 cylinder, the AC always worked and I kept getting speeding tickets whenever I hit the highway home... I will admit it wasn’t made for racing, and it was a boat, but wafting just doesn’t seem like the right description of mine, plus the back seat was quite comfortable for those certain summer activities... My driver’s test was done in dad’s 1974 LTD Station Wagon... Now THAT was a wafting boat. It also had a serious duty hydraulically activated power brake booster and could screech tires if you weren’t very soft on the pedal. I hated that...
  13. And some of those goose chases make the best stories and memories being able to walk away with a good chuckle... kind of like that ad, I think it’s funny as all get out. Thank you for the chuckle, and Merry Christmas everyone!
  14. Also wondering if it was for some form of early strobe bubble light, early police/fire??
  15. The outer caps are very reminiscent of Reo cars and trucks. I would look at pictures of Reo’s
  16. Is it steel or fiberglass? Something about its decoration puts me in mind of an Excalibur or another kit car type of platform...
  17. Appreciate your comments, I really did the same thing as TAKerry and assumed you thought it was better than the pictures... Im also glad you are getting good perspective on what it truly is as I am not up on anything this new even though it was a Mustang where I started playing with cars, albeit many years older... And looking at the condition of the front seat, I can fully believe the odometer is correct, it’s not even broken in going by the picture.
  18. I don’t mean to bad mouth it, and I am certain it has a devoted following, but I think you might want to get an appraisal from someone familiar with the exact cars. It appears to have some unusual equipment options that could greatly add to the value but might also have suffered from sitting. If nothing else you need to get It out for better pictures because what I see above is a far cry from your description of a car in “top shape” not to mention it hasn’t run in 20 years introduces a whole Pandora’s box of issues. I wish you luck with helping out your sister in law.
  19. I know there’s been one or two sold on eBay in the recent months, you can search for them by completed sales and see what they brought (see picture below). This is about the best way to come up with a value for much of this stuff. I had a hornet badge like the one in your other post that I sold at a flea market last March for $5 but it was a kid buying it so my price was set so he might remain interested in the old cars... not that I gave it much value in the first place, I remember pulling it from a junk yard car as a kid myself.
  20. These look like accessories made to cover wood wheels so they looked like disc wheels and most likely are not for any specific make. They were also sold to help with deep mud keeping it out of the spokes and decreasing the drag.
  21. Someone on hallucinogenic substances in the 60’s created this one... should have saved it for flashback Friday.
  22. All I could see is that it was a White that’s covered with more white, but the entire make is obscure enough that I couldn’t tell anything other than that, I’m impressed you did in les than two minutes...
  23. Better hurry up, winter is coming! This picture was part of a lot on eBay with a very obscene starting price, but it made me think of you for some reason...
  24. Looking at his bio, it appears that he was more involved in movie posters, but either way he’s a talented and listed artist who did a lot of iconic art. Great back story, and well worth having appraised by a professional! Every now and then there’s a piece of art that makes those professionals say “holy s!!t”, and you might just have one of those... Great posters, do at least have a professional frame and mat them -they would look great on a wall in the right place.
