  1. The 66 Fairlane cylinder had the ports turned 1/4 turn. Otherwise they are almost identical.
  2. Looks like a Ford setup to me. Likely 65 Mustang from what I can see.
  3. We could rebuild your steering gear. Once we're done with it you'll have a limited lifetime warranty on it for as long as you own the vehicle. PM me for details.
  4. It's a 1959-1964 Chevy car manual steering gear. There is a difference between a manual gear, and a manual gear with power assist. This gear has a slower ratio for regular manual steering.
  5. If you're referring to the gear on the model it may be a bit smaller then my seal kits go. Full size wouldn't be a problem though.
  6. It's Friday Roger. We can finally relax a bit and pay attention to detail. Great work on everything by the way!
  7. Good call. I can just barely see the curve back in the top of the grille on the OP's picture. Thanks John!
  8. You're the man John. So I know what to look for next time, what were the differences between 36 and 37? I'll be honest, the other ones might be a year or two off. They could be way off. These were just my best minimal educated guesses.
  9. And as a rough guess on the truck, 1928 Chevy?
  10. The older touring car looks to be a 1924 Oldsmobile model 30-b
  11. I believe the 2 door Coupe is a 1936 Chevrolet Business Coupe
  12. The more the parts car looses the better the restoration looks. Keep up the good work. She's coming along nicely. You have to feel pretty good about getting this close.
  13. I searched through our previous steering gear builds and found a match labeled 1929 Chrysler.
  14. It's a 1929 Chrysler steering gear. What model I'm not sure.
  15. We machine all of ours. That way we can keep the tolerance at +/- .002. Our bushings also have a double loop groove to for lubrication. If you buy a regular bushing it may lead to trouble later due to this bushing being high load.
  16. If you don't mind my asking, what region of the country do you live in? I have a lot of friends who love old cars here in MN. In NYC I have a couple of friends that are just as you describe. No interest in ever owning a car. They just use public transportation to get everywhere.
  17. Photos of the sector shaft, cover, and input housing would be a great help
  18. Matt, The 54 is a beauty! My biggest problem is I went on a buying spree about 6 months ago. I brought home another 4 vehicles. That put me at 30. I've since sold 8 of them. I have another 6 that have to go before I can even think about buying another classic. Right now both of my 1950 Plymouths, the 78 Lincoln, and the 77 Firebird are parked outside on tarps. It doesn't bother me to park the newer stuff outside, but in MN leaving a classic outside in the winter never ends well. Road salt gets spread everywhere! I have to get some of these newer cars out of my shop so I have a place to park the classics for the winter. I don't want you to hold the car for me, but I would be interested as soon as these newer cars are gone. I'll check back in with you once I have a spot for it.
  19. I couldn't agree more. Especially after the 2 month brake job.
  20. Welcome to the forums. I'm also 26. I think the BCA and AACA will start to see more activity from people our age once student loans, new cars, and other new family type bills are getting paid off. You guys will be happy to hear the search for my next Buick is moving along as planned. I've been trying to sell most of my modern vehicles, and that's been going pretty well. One of the issues I keep running into is what I should get when the time comes. Last year I stated that I would like to get my hand on something from 54-56. Since I have been looking at all models from 1954-1975. Riv's, Wildcat's, Electra's, RM's, Centurions, Invicta's, Specials, ect... All you dang Buick guys letting me drool over your cars have made it next to impossible to make up my mind. A few more car's have to go before I have to get serious about buying one, but soon....very soon.
  21. I found a laser disc player and 5 or 6 movies to go with it in my 64 Continental. They still work to this day. It's funny to see my friends face when they see a 12" cd . I hope you washed the seats!
  22. What is your price on the entire car, and do you have a title(or equivalent paperwork)?
