Wayne, the other fellow mrspeedyt posted that it may be A1 Auto Dismantlers now. I wonder if they had accumulated what was left of Tim's yard and still have some. It may be worth a try for any helpful person to drive by there and see what is going on now? Thanks Wayne

Just another tidbit of info, Tim Brown Sr was the brother of legend and mysterious race car driver W.W. Cockeyed Brown who ran his machine works company in Kansas City. W.W. Was in the 1919 Indy 500 and also tried for 1915 but did not qualify.

Interesting Mr Capone, did you know any of the Brown's there? I did some more research, seems Tim Jr sold it in 1974, not sure if to another family member or separate entity. Thanks for the replies so far.

The Besasie Barracuda may be on a '53 Corvette Frame. When first built it sported a Corvette 235 motor with the triple carb side draft intake.

Turbo Supercharger is an old aviation term that Besasie also coined. The turbo supercharger does indeed function like a turbocharger, driven by exhaust gases, not belt driven.

Heres a 1941 picture, a 32 Ford Roadster, may be a Willys 4 cylinder or a Ford 4 cylinder? Winfield Carb. Early adaption of Besasie turbo supercharger.

Larry that is cool. Ray built 4 cars total, one had tiller steering. He was Brooks Stevens personal mechanic and his son's Ray Jr and Joe also worked for him. They helped Ray build the cars. The first and my favorite being the Besasie Barracuda. The Turbo Supercharger was started in 1939 and was actually adapted to more than just the Chevy 6 engine. Juan Fangio is said to have used one in the early South American Pan Am races in one of his Chevys before switching over to a Wayne 12 Port.

This is my beloved 1950 Chevy 3/4 ton 3600 that I drove for many years daily and 2 winters in the Rocky Mountains.. I pulled the black/Greg motor to inspect a vibration and checked dampner, suspect loosened front motor mount. Motor ran fine. Other motor is a 1955 235 setup for side mounts but great running motor. Both motors have 848 head. Have new radiator, assortment of carbs (Carter YF, Carter W-1, Rochester B's). Includes set of Fenton headers. Have extra intake/exhaust manifolds.
Transmissions:
Muncie 4 Speed Sm420. Good running condition, Torque tube style.
3 Speed Overdrive Borg Warner R10, Special bracket setup for Hurst shifter on floor,comes with Hurst shifter,all new hardware, overdrive cable, solenoid, relay, kickdown switch, mounting hardware. Correct overdrive housing oil comes with and owner/instruction manual. Good running condition.
3 Speed Transmission, Great running condition.
3 Speed powerglide, not inspected.
New Aux heater and new defrost ducts includes. Have original heater but needs new core, also included. New AM/FM Aux input radio aftermarket item.
Newly built drive line ready to install.
4:10 Eaton rear pumpkin already installed. Also include 4:56 pumpkin.
Truck has 4 235/15/75 A/T Wild Country tires and 8 lug wheels. Great wheels and tires. Also have 3 original white wall split rim wheels and Remington tires, mounted already.
Truck needs new master cylinder and a little work on stuck rear wheel e brake cable. Easy repair.
The truck needs some touch up and buffing on paint, I do have some left of original matched Forest Green acrylic enamel. Chrome front bumper and hood ornament have pitting but fixable. Only major rust holes are in rear cab wells, but I drove it like that stuffed with good rags during winter. Not bad though.
Many other parts included, gaskets, starter solenoid, distributors and many other usable knick knacks.
I do have a parts 216 whole motor, with extra block and head, intake/exhaust manifold.
This is all a package deal! Good solid truck ready for new work. Will help load anything, or could fit everything truck bed.

Great used condition Chevy Muncie 3 speed Borg Warner Overdrive transmission with Hurst Shifter and special mounting Bracket. Comes with all new accessories - throttle cable, kickdown switch, 12v relay, and 12v Solenoid. It does need a new Oil Seal where solenoid goes. Comes with correct unopened Overdrive housing oil. Original Reproduction Overdrive manual also included. $600 Kansas City

You are correct about the name Mighty Mite. The original design of this was called the M100 and was built at Luther Shelton Machines shop on Southwest Blvd. There was a fellow named Ben Gregory of Mid American Research Company who was involved with it. I was looking to see if anyone knew about the first design "M100"

Has anyone here heard about the jeep Luther Shelton of Kansas City built during the Korean War for the Marine Core in Virginia. Apparantelly AMC picked up on it later and made at least 9 or 10 of them, they were also used during Nam. Any info would be great, if there is one still around, I would like to know.

I found this brochure on www.autolit.com, I ordered and they informed me they had already sold it. Can anyone tell me if they have seen this advertisement before?
It was made by the Besasie's out of Milwaukee and was a brochure made in 1946. If anyone knows if it was in a catalogue or magazine, which publication? or hopefully someone can make a bigger scan of it! Thank You

Dear fellow forum members,
I have been trying to ID the motor in a midget race car probably around the 1940s in the attached photo. The closest Flathead 4 cylinder with similar side covers I could find, was a 4 cylinder Dodge, but the side covers on those are more rectangle, not as square. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
