  1. Cars don't have to be concours to enjoy them. You have a beautiful car, drive it and enjoy it.
  2. Tinindian is exactly correct, use a test light to judge the opening of the points, don't try to judge it by eye. You can also go old school and time using a vacuum gauge, set for maximum vacuum and retard by about 1"Hg. I do this as a quick option and it works quite well.
  3. Try California Pontiac Restoration. If you ask them for a catalogue you'll find about anything you could want in it. http://www.pontiacparts.net/
  4. I'd be grateful for any drawings, pictures or measurements also.
  5. My 27-30 Pontiacs have the split nut style steering boxes, several of which are quite worn. If they are adjusted to have minimal freeplay in the straight ahead position then they bind on turns. If adjusted to be good on turns then there is a lot of freeplay in the middle. Has anyone had success having these types of boxes rebuilt? Is there any tricks for them.
  6. I know this is a long shot but I am looking for the synchronizer assembly for a 32 Pontiac V8, for some reason it was removed from my car at some point. I need the arm inside the timing cover as well as the outer arm or any individual parts I can get. I am also searching for 4 of the small handles for the bonnet (hood) vents. I am in Australia but would be delighted to pay postage. With thanks Heath

  8. Wow, what a stunning car, you're going to have a heap of fun in that!
  9. That sounds great, do you know what year/model Chrysler? Or maybe have an Egge part number? Cheers Heath
  10. Do you have any pictures or details of the Chrysler adjusters? Sounds like a good option for mine, the three spanners are a pain.
  11. Egge couldn't supply mains? That would surprise me.
  12. I've been researching Pontiacs for some years now also and the Silver Eagle is a new one to me as well. Would love to see some pictures.
  13. Good idea Curt, I have saved searches for Pontiac hood ornaments but as you say, people might not know what it is. My 32 came from near you, DePere WI.
  14. I'm looking for an original eagle radiator cap for my 32 V8 Pontiac in good to mint condition, I'd be grateful for any leads. Thanks
  15. I get my Pontiac gaskets from Al Lambert, he is excellent to deal with. For the bolts try EGGE machinery.
  16. I have 10 Pontiacs including a 1937, I time them all using a vacuum gauge with good results.
  17. I have been using this method with great success for some time on my Pontiacs, connect gauge to manifold vacuum and set timing for maximum vacuum. These are cars with mechanical advance weights so I set it at idle where the advance won't be on yet. Now, I want to do this to a 27 Buick Master which has mechanical advance in the distributor as well ad a hand advance/retard lever on the steering wheel. Should the timing be set with the hand lever at TDC position or in the advanced position? Thanks
  18. Nothing wrong with the girl but I would like to see some more pics without her too. And if she sat on my bonnet there would be trouble!
  19. Very nice car! Battery cables need to be thicker for 6 volt than for 12 volt as trimacvar said and they are very very sensitive to bad earths.
  20. That's a relief. I'd sell my soul for this car!
