  1. Serve the community will generally require the accused to take time off work to serve. Income loss no matter how the infraction is handled.
  2. In which case the court needs to throw out the ticket.
  3. IMO, it's viewed as a deterant. However, it's not to say it's abused. MD route 100 was running work zone cameras yesterday. It was after 5 pm. Not a worker or equipment to be seen. The camera was just flashing away like nothing. I guess one could fight this in court. The state is banking on the vehicle owner just paying and not bothering to take a day off. Drive to Annapolis. Pay $30 in parking. Possibly missing as days pay as a result.
  4. In MD I believe ones vehicle can not be registered if there are unpaid tickets of any kind.
  5. Listening to the video the starter struggles on a compression stroke. As stated above, check your firing order. Also, when running go to the tailpipe and check if the exhaust flow is consistent and not exhibiting an intermittent misfire. If yes, find out what cylinder is misfiring. Check the operation of the EGR valve as well.
  6. "Pardon the ramble. Overpopulation's traffic prevents enjoyment of a vintage car anytime other than before 9am weekends." Truth! After lunchtime everyone is up your tailpipe and has a look on their face that says, "You should not be on my road today."
  7. Yes. My wife's 2006 Mercury Mountaineer. Traded in for a 2023 Traverse. My wife was visible upset she traded in her Mercury she had so many memories in. Three weeks after it was traded in I found it on a used car lot. I traded in my KIA for it and paid the difference. The Mercury I delivered back to my wife. She was thrilled. I get to drive the new Traverse. It was a win win for me.
  8. What is a fair application of the law? Better yet, drive the speed limit.
  9. What is a better punishment for running a red light or excessive speed? When peoples wallets are affected they tend to change their habits.
  10. Aren't all tickets issued about money? Does it matter if it handwritten by Officer Speed or mechanically printed and mailed to ones home? The only unfair practice that was eventually changed was issuing tickets in work zones during non working hours.
  11. MD is loaded with these cameras. Personally I believe they are necessary. People drive like lunatics in this state. A year ago 6 highway workers were killed by a speeder in the work zone. She was driving in excess of 85 mph. Fines need to be stiffer than they are IMO. Adding red light cameras are ok in IMO.
  12. No flickering of lights. Cleaning all connections can never be a bad thing.
  13. I'll take a look. Always best to check the entire system. I can say it's not let me down in the 13 years I have owned this Buick.
  14. Will do. May be a bit until I get to it. I'll keep you posted.
  15. Did a search of the forums without much luck. Going to check my manual and also what all here may know/experienced. My amp gauge in my 54 Buick will from time to time bounce up and down. Not wildly. But for several miles it will bounce up and down. Other times it steady in the middle. The system is charging the battery and testing shows a good charge. What are the possible causes of a bouncing amp gauge needle? As a side note, the battery is known good.
  16. I tried a NOS value. It lasted about 5 minutes. The rubber is not quite what it was when assembled years ago. Hopefully yours is good. It's not a bad job. I spend more time with a wet/dry vacuum getting the gallons of antifreeze out of the carpet. 🤦
  17. Me and the missus went to Cars and Coffee St. Michaels MD Car Museum.
  18. Right now I'm getting zero miles to the gallon. Too busy to get them out on the road. Trying to change that tomorrow.
