They use to have a couple of small but nice swap meets if your timing is good. One was at the university parking lot and the other at Los Lunas. Lost a car dolly one night at the Marriott in Albuquerque but they did leave my 3/8 chain behind.

The dash looks correct except for the radio. But I do believe 30 Cadillac was the first year for a radio. Also has the chrome trim but missing the dash lights.

Paint + tires + sort engine + maybe some interior work + vinal top + mechanical = sell and buy another car on the road.
Hagerty price guide shows a value of $23,000 in #1 condition and shows 65 T birds are dropping in value.

Anyway the start of a collection seeing I have more than three items if that is the general consensus rule. Using an Alumite display box I am thinking from the teens that I bought somewhere in NY state years ago. Made of wood then wrapped in tin.
I will have to search the barn as I am sure I have a couple of tin boxes full of old spark plugs I bought at auction again years ago.
What do people collect in plugs like everything, a brand, country of origin or oddball??

A friend passed and I inherited a box of new spark plugs that came from his grandfathers automotive store that closed in the 60s. Here is a sample of a few of the plugs I got. Any info on usage or rarity would be appreciated. On the end of the box with the dark insulator it says nine lives spark plugs from the Canadian Carbon Co. The second one says all in one by the Frontier Specialty Co. with a patent date of Jan 1900 . The other two are different as one has a handle and both are Campion Priming Plug. The picture on the box does not have a handle I can see so I guess they came both ways.

How about a Canadian made 1914 Buick model M55 aluminum body 7 passenger touring. The M55 is 5 in wider at the cowl than the B55. Of 3 M55 were made this is the only survivor left and it is complete with an extra engine. Still in pieces in Oshawa that may be on the road some day. Have pictures of it on another computer that is giving me a hard time.

I was helping at the gate at a swap meet and over heard a fellow talking to a friend. He was saying that he was so happy he was able to sell his vintage car and now looking for a replacement. What startled me was when he said the next one will have to have power windows and air conditioning. When I buy a vintage car my wife hopes for doors and side glass.

You should try Lindsay Swap meet that is worth the extra drive.

How hard is it to sell a project today and I would think 95% are four door cars and they have been picked long ago of the good parts. There is a reason the yard is being sold with inventory.

Up here there was a swap meet that went on for decades run by the Ontario Region AACA chapter. When the Ontario chapter ran into parking issues they moved the event to a new location an hour away to another fair ground. The fair board from the old location revived the event at the original location and has done very well. Now there is two swap meets rather than the one.
One issue was the fair board used the same date causing a great deal of friction all around. AACA Ontario changed their date a month later mainly for wormer dryer weather. Another thing that happened is the original location fair board used the original name for their swap meet Stirling named after the town it was in. So the yeas of advertising was given away causing a dump truck of confusion with attendees and everyone else. So the Stirling fair board started a new swap meet using the original date, name and location and ran with it. Never name a swap meet after the location name unless you register the name so no one else can use it.
The only issue Ontario region has now is trying to get volunteers as the membership is aging and declining.

It was a no sale at 30,000. My biggest fear seeing the under carriage it has never had a full restoration unless done many decades ago that the wood needs replacing.

Sure, annoying for the guy behind you but they sure see it.
Talking to a friend and telling me that the reason for LED tail light bulbs having a delay is because of the flasher needing heavier voltage to operate as normal. He says to switch to a lighter duty flasher if possible.

I bought LED for my 30 Cadillac tail lights as I have in the past have had folks comment about the original not being very bright. I have Just put them in so will have to wait till spring to see if it makes others happy.
I have Quarts in the headlights and happy with that but they do draw more power.

Model T projects are a good entry level for the beginner but not now seeing the parts prices. A brass rad is over $3000 Canadian or $1950 US up from $1200 US. They want $100 US just to rebuild a K&W coil now where RV Anderson RIP only charged $40 for one 3 years ago. The prices are going to hurt the hobby as 1912Staver says. The clubs are trying to get the younger generation in the hobby but what is happening with the cost factor it is going to be a rough ride.

Can anyone tell be where I can buy 700/19 right off the rack at a cheap price??????
If you have an older car 50s and up no problem for tires fight off the rack for a driver. But when you get into not too common pre war tire the availability has dropped like the sales. So all that reflects on the price.

My new tires came today by FedEx after a 2year 1 month wait.
I have to thank one of the posters here that offered me tires if I ever needed them. Thanks for the thoughtful offer again.
I must say being a member here I find the guys are really helpful putting themselves out to help each other.

A good friend sold a 1934 Oldsmobile 8 cyl coup that had no rust at all. Sat in his garage for 30 years then decided to sell having other projects to finish. Went to a hot rod builder but the deal was he got the drive line back. The engine ended up being sold to a shop out west going into a 34 roadster missing an engine.
