  3. I just realized I listed my posting in the wrong area. Duh. I bought a glove box with the clock. I've restored the clock. It also has the hole for the ash tray which I would like to fill with the original part. I don't know what kind of lock is required, other than the one I saw on Google and that was at some distance. Smoking was almost an expectation when these cars were designed and built. I would imagine on cars that didn't order the ash tray option, they flicked there ashes and butts out the window. A good look at the side of most roads would indicate this habit has changed much in 75 years. Thanks for your response.

  12. The diameter is three and three quarter inches and it is three quarter of an inch thick. Additional photos attached.

  14. Can anyone identify this clock? I assume it to be automotive. The glass bezel unscrews. There does not seem to be a straight forward way of extracting the movement from the case without risking damage. As a consequence I cannot provide the name of the manufacturer. Thank you in advance.

  16. Thanks for the info. That really helps. Since the original movement was missing parts, I ended up buying the current movement for this clock from a fellow in New Zealand. The original movement and NZ movement are both Borg. The NZ movement looks like a later 30's while the original looks like an early 30's design. Do you know where I might obtain the adjustment cable?

  19. Attached is a photo of what appears to be a 1938 Plymouth clock. The graphics are exactly the same as the speedometer and gauges for the same year vehicle. I would like to confirm this by documentation or photo of the clock installed in a 38 Plymouth. It does appear in the "Identifying Instrument Cluster" website, with a ? after glove box. I have not been successful in any of my other internet searches. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  20. I checked to be sure and determined that the toilet seat on the trunk of the Falcon was not on the factory option list.
  21. Thanks for the photo. I wish we could see the clock more clearly. It's just a hunch, but I think this custom installation. The face appears to be from a 1959 Buick. There is a gap around the area between the dash metal and the clock itself. Also there is a screw on the left side of the clock that wouldn't normally be part of a factory installation.
