  1. We're putting on the finishing touches on a 1937 Super 8 Coupe roadster. The correct 3-piece distributor cap is on the car, but I'd like to find a 'modern' replacement for both touring and back up. A separate set of wires will be made. The distributor is an Autolite IGT 1405. any advice on what cap might fit from NAPA or other stores? Same for points, condensor, and rotor? Thanks! glenn Hamilton
  2. I've been working with these castings and have concluded they are too shallow to hold the glass properly. My plan was to have the glass epoxied in place at a glass shop. Once the groove is cut, the size of the glass increases to 18.5". It's a big piece of glass for the support these castings give. The clamps for the steering column would fit a 2" diameter without problem. Mine is 2.25" and that is too much. All in all, I'm back at square one, and continuing to look for an original monocle windshield. Thanks, Glenn
  3. I've had this wiper for more than 30 years. It was a spare for my '29 Phaeton, which is now sold. As I do more research, it doesn't match any of the descriptions or drawings in the Restoration/Judging standards. So the question is, can anyone help me in identifying it, year and application? Thanks, Glenn Hamilton, Dayton, OH
  4. The Carter # to look for on these BB-1s is 289S. This is usually on the small brass tag attached to the bowl. This carb will certainly manage a 220 cid auto engine and larger. I've used them on a 318 cid '09 Buick and '11 Marmon and they both run very well. You can also find a conical F&N air filter to fit. The original Carter air filters are hard to come by. Rand is very knowledgeable in these carbs and matching the correct size for the engine. Also you need the correct valve and needle seat for flow in a gravity feed system, which is likely in an '09 Regal. Rand can help there also, but Ron Hewitt at Daytona Parts Co in Florida (386-427-7108) has a new seat and disc arrangement that should work. Give him a call as he knows his business and has restored every carb in every car I've owned (from '09 to '56). He refers brass carbs, such as your Schebler Model ? to Classic Carburetors in Arizona. The Carter will really improve the running and dependability...if, of course the carb is the problem. Good luck!

  11. I'm cleaning out several stacks of Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge literature collected from local dealerships by a gentleman who has since passed away. 15. A nice period piece from an era when a significant anniversary brought congratulations from competitors and suppliers alike. Newsprint with ads, photos and stories all oriented toward Packard and its 40 years of success. A different type of literature for the 1939 or 1940 Packard owner or Packard literature collector. These came as a hardcover version, newsprint with a color component, or as black-white newsprint. This is the black-white newsprint version. Its 19" X 10" with about 80 pp, and in excellent condition. $20 plus postage. Glenn Hamilton, 53 Monteray Road, Dayton, OH 45419. glenn.hamilton@wright.edu
  16. My wonderful '04 Cadillac Model B was sold some time ago, but I uncovered the original catalog and Floyd Clymer's reproduction purchased for reference and display. 17. Price reduced! The Wolverine was introduced May 5, 1927 and replaced by the Flying Cloud "Mate" in December 1928. Understandably original literature for such a short-lived model is rare. This is a two-color foldout piece 6" X 3 1/2" that opens to 12" X 13" Stained on the front as seen in the photo, but overall good condition with all text legible. Found in my wife's grandfather's files who working in the Lansing auto industry from the 1920s to 1960s. $15 including postage. Glenn Hamilton, Dayton, OH, glenn.hamilton@wright.edu
  18. Thanks for both replies on castings. I was hoping to find an original piece, but no luck for over a year. I've had castings made (not cheap!), but wanted to check one more time before going to the machinist. Photos of the castings attached, headed to the machinist shortly, Glenn
  19. I'm clearing out an old garage, and have a worn but serviceable copy of Instructions for Care and Maintenance, Model T-18, T-18H Truck chassis, 1936 Seriesw, first Edition. Its 10 1/2" X 8" about 150pp, and has grey-green cover. The cover is missing on the back. It covers 18 different area plus an Index and Data section. The text and illustrations are very nice, most damage is to the cover and a few back pages. Published by GM Truck Co, Pontiac, MI. Asking $35 OBO plus shipping. The one on EBay is $50. Glenn Hamilton, Dayton, OH, glenn.hamilton@wright.edu
  20. This 11" X 8 1/2" 137pp book lists approximately 3700 Chevrolet parts that are interchangeable with Buick, Oldsmobile, or Pontiac. Some of the references go back to 1929, although most are 30s and 40s. Text is in excellent condition. Cover is stained with wear, but no tears. A nice original resource for cross-referencing parts. Copyright 1951. $30 plus shipping, Glenn Hamilton, Dayton, OH, glenn.hamilton@wright.edu, 937-477-3298.
  21. I took these off my '35 Alvis Speed 20, and replaced with the correct era lamps. The car is long gone to England, but these remain. The pair are 7" labelled Lucas SS700P in very nice working condition. They have been modified with a GE sealed beam set-up. I'm not sure what car they might go on or if they are more appropriately headlamps. I've seen the SS700P designation on some British motorcycles, but they are set up differently. In any case, if these are what you've been seeking, they can be bought for $100 for the pair plus shipping, Glenn Hamilton, Dayton, OH, glenn.hamilton@wright.edu, 937-477-3298.
  22. Starting to clean out a variety of items for my 22nd Series Custom sedan sold some time ago. The first item is one of the harder ones to find, a set of four ribbed rubber doors sills with 'PACKARD' embossed. These are reproductions in excellent, unused condition. They don't have steel clips on the bottom, rather they are glued to the sill. The 'PACKARD' is in black, but can easily be painted gold as necessary. Photos available. Asking $350 which is less than my purchase price several years ago, plus shipping. The other item is a box of 10 NOS Hastings Aero-type 10-230 (10mm) shrouded spark plugs in original boxes. These were used in 1941-47 6-cyl and 1941-50 8 cyl Packards, also 1946-48 Cadillacs Available for $40 plus shipping. Glenn Hamilton, Dayton, OH, glenn.hamilton@wright.edu, 937-477-3298.
  23. This is a 15" brass monocle windshield with intact and undamaged safety glass in place. It is in excellent shape and has a nice patina. How about $100 plus shipping. New ones sell for $135 and have no glass. If you're making a Model T or smaller chassis speedster (112" or so for proportion), this is a nice addition, and it does offer 'some' wind protection.
