  1. Hello,  After taking parts off the chassis to use to make the other one a full chassis, I sold the chassis.  I'm sorry I don't have the information from the fellow that came and picked it up.  I was lucky between the two chassises to have the parts to make one.  not sure but here is my email ( tclmagic@mac.com) if it will go thru if you ever have any questions, not that I know much 🙂

Ok Ted, I have to ask (surely others wonder too).  What is your background in Classic cars, fabrication, engineering, etc....  leading up to the moment you stumbled on this RR chassis?  This is not your first rodeo.....

just great stuff you are sharing.  I really enjoy the updates.

I restored my 1928 Dodge Brothers 5 window coupe frame up and the same with my 1928 Rolls Royce Phantom I both in the last 7 years.  The first time doing frame off restorations.  I had a restaurant all my life but love working with my hands.  It’s basically the first time doing this. Except for chroming, I do everything myself, just asking questions from friends and watching utube videos.  Body work engine, machining parts, paint, wood working and upholstery.     I did take one welding class a few years ago.  Don’t read or write well but love working with my hands.
My dad always told me I could do anything, so I have to believe him😊.
I restore thinks hoping others will try things and challenge themselves and not watch too much tv or play computer games.

getting the bonnets primed ready for some finishing work.

working on fitting the luggage rack and getting started on the frame rail woodwork.

    and working on the cowl.

Also repairing the battery box and installing it.

and making some missing body mounting brackets.

  4. Taking the radiator apart and cleaning up.  Cleaning up parts of the peddles, and rebuilding more bijour fittings.

Putting parts back on the frame including the wheels.

starting on the gas tank.  Have to cut open to clean out replace some of the metal that has holes in it.

installing the break equalizers on the chassis

Maddie is helping under the frame

made some parts for the gas tank

Had to make a plate to attach the new drive shaft to the rear end, didn't want to destroy the original one.

Little more update on the progress of the project.  A bit ago, had the front axle flip over and a piece went through my hand to the tune of 9 stitches, luckily no bone or muscle damage, but after getting stitched up I went back and finished putting it together, can't let it get the best of me 🙂

Trying to keep things neat with he cotter pins,

cleaning & Rebuilding the steering box

  6. Purchased two Rolls Phantom II Chassis. Both in a junk yard for over 15 years then purchased by a fellow and stored in dry a house deck in the dirt for over 50 years.  No body parts just the chassis’s, one engine that was stripped down. Both chassis’s missing parts.
So I am building one chassis out of the two.  Then will build a body from scratch on it.

We were off to the club this morning for coffee and chat and halfway there my electric fuel pump died.
It was a quite expensive 4-7psi pump to but it hasn’t lasted long.
One!! was wishing at the time he’d left the old vacuum tank in there instead. 🙄
The electric pumps are normally pretty reliable but not this time. A good mate of mine grabbed another one for me from the auto parts shop and dropped it off to us, and in 5 minutes we were on our way again. It took an hour and a half for him to get to us though. We were very thankful he did that for us. Sitting on the side of the freeway for almost 2 hours with probably close to a 50,000 cars going past us not one of them stopped. WTF!! Is wrong with people today. One guy tooted us and another young fella yelled abuse at us out of his window. Anyway she’s all good again and I’ll keep a spare in the tool box just in case. The joys of old car motoring with modern components and some hidden Phillips head screws. 🤣😂

It’s a shame, people now a days are just self centered, lazy & in a hurry.  I’ve met some really nice down to earth folks by stopping and lending a had before.   Glad it all worked out.
