  1. Just curious Paul, how many miles would you say you drove those two vehicles over 25 years?
  2. Interesting Paul, I assume there is no "mushy pedal" or you probably wouldn't have kept it for 25 years. I look forward to seeing your report on the rubber components.
  3. Thanks John, I've wondered about it for some time now, since I read that it's a very difficult fluid to use. If you accidentally knock the can or a small earth tremor happens you have to wait three days for the bubbles to dissipate in the fluid. That sort of thing. I'll stick with synthetic thanks.
  4. Not meaning to be a smarty pants, but I have a serious question. Why do people use silicone brake fluid? I heard bad stuff about it.
  5. I don't know if I could ever get used to shifting with my left hand
  6. Wow, that's some pitting on that rotor! Good move replacing that.
  7. John, my boss has a Chevy pickup extended cab. Probably on the same chassis as your Suburban, or close to it, and a local shop replaced all the brake lines last year due to the Abominable Rust Monster. Cost: $1400.00 Yikes! Now, seeing all the fun you're having, I'm understanding the cost a little better.
  8. "12" has found a home. A place where he is treated nicely and there is food too! Yay! Happy New Year John and Alice!
  9. Very nice John - we love those old mansions too. They don't build 'em like they used to! Glad to hear from you - have fun!
  10. Jonh?! Everything OK? We miss you and your car exploits - waiting to see that Taurus SHO get the fix-up treatment. Let us know you're doing OK please!
  11. John, geat to hear that the SHO is under cover and fix up is scheduled! All cool cars deserve to run! Can't wait to see your progress with it (I live vicariously through you John)
  12. That Passat is a fast one John. Speaking of, what's up with the Taurus SHO? Is she gonna be outside in the cold whilst all the other cars are tucked in the warm garage?
  13. Isn't Ernest the neighbor's dog, John? He hangs around your house 'cuz the food is better, eh? And the company too.
  14. Wow, what a work of art that engine is! Check out that external camshaft.
  15. Good stuff John. Now the '28 doesn't feel neglected next to the other cars.
  16. Great article and as usual great progress on your toys. Looking forward to seeing how old Brownie turns out. A question, what draws you to old Buicks? As opposed to, say, a Packard or Studebaker, etc? Is it build quality, ride, reputation, or other?
  17. That's a great price for all those gaskets John. Just curious, why don't you use the pistons out of the current engine that has all the cracks in the block?
  18. You're going to have to start filling out a time sheet every day John. You have the job I want!
  19. Thanks Bill, I miss the day to day car report. Just can't keep up with the job and the car - can't have the car without the job I guess. Yes, that Triumph was another one I thought was best in show - perfect in every way, even down to the Lucas ("The Prince of Darkness") battery.
  20. A Cosworth Vega, and who is that in that Mustang??
  21. This Olds 98 was another favorite of mine along with the Star Chief. The 98 is all original and the Star Chief was modified.
  22. Yep, another dream born! Good for the hobby.
  23. The young man sitting in the Jag was thrilled when the owners of it graciously invited him to sit in it. Made his day!
