  1. Trying to sell my 1936 Mullins Red Cap trailer. Very nice restored original. Where do I advertise? Only made two years, a lot of collectors doen't know what they are.
  2. I'm restoring an interior of a 1935 Studebaker Hearse. The front will be leather, the back is velvet or velour. I used 1/8 inch tempered masonite for the panels. The original material was done with nails and staples and was a thicker heavier material than what I have been able to find. It would hide the nails. There were no screws showing and I don't want them to show on the resto. I just bought some 18 gauge 3/4 brad nails and will be experimenting with that. Between the board and material I will be using a 1/8 inch foam underlayment. I used the tempered masonite and underlayment when doing my 8 ft roof panel and it came out awesome.
  3. Made new door panels for my 35 Studebaker. Any ideas how to attach them other than screws.
  4. Looking for a nice oil pan for my 37 Buick Roadmaster. Would like a pretty nice one , needing repaint is fine. Thanks
  5. I have been collecting cars for over 50 yrs and have always kept my cars all original. This last buick I bought was converted to 12 volts which I would not have done but since it was done and still looks original, which is big for me, I bought it. It starts right up every time and I have brighter headlights and tail lights. My generator was not charging so I was just thinking if I could keep it looking original but have better lighting and fast starts every time I might look into this. I will probably leave it 6 volts but thought I would get some input. Thanks for all the comments.
  6. I have a 37 Buick that had a 12 volt generator put in out of a 52 buick since they were 12 volts. Did Studebaker make a 12 volt generator that would be compatible to my 6 volt and what all would have to be done. My Buick was done before I purchased it. I don't want an alternator cause I want it to have an original appearance. I know the lights would have to be upgraded to 12v bulbs, what about starter and gauges, can I keep original gauges?
  7. Thanks Chris, I'll keep your offer in mind. Without any tags it may not be a correct generator. The one I have works fine but I'm looking for a nice correct one.
  8. Chriss, what kind of shape is it in? The one I have seems to be about a half inch longer than the mounting bracket so I have to use a spacer to mount it. The one you have is the correct length to mount? How much do you want for it.
  9. Looking for a correct generator for my 35 Studebaker Dictator?
  10. Trying to post my 35 Studebaker for sale but having problems submitting photos. Nice original car, restoration about completed, needs interior done, have all original patterns. Motor has been rebuilt, all new brakes and brake lines. All rollers and latches have been chrome plated by Pauls Chrome Plating, one of the best for pot metal. New roof. All glass is new except for the 5 ft door glass as they were pretty nice. New rubber on running boards. Hood ornament was replaced by Pauls Chrome and is excellent. Hubcaps are related, very nice. Coker wide whites. Contact me and I can send photos. I have a lot of money invested so this would not be a cheep car to buy. Will listen to offers starting at $35,000.
  11. 1936 MULLINS RED CAP TRAILER. Only made 2 yrs-1936-1937. Correct hubcaps that are very rare. Excellent restored original with title. These are very rare, lid comes up, tailgate drops down. There are fiberglass remakes but this is an original! Doug 402-699-7442 Consider offers starting at $7500. Thanks
  12. Thanks for the feedback. My car does have a heater, no bypass valve. All the holes around the pedals are tight. I have a Roadmaster 80 Series and it is warm also but not as warm as the 80C. At the last car event it was suggested to have the exhaust manifolds ceramic coated, says the manifolds don't get hot??
  13. I have a 1937 Buick Phaeton Convertible, when it is at operating temperature it gets very warm in the front seat compartment. Don't notice any warm air blowing anywhere, its just very warm under the dash. I drained the fluids and checked the thermostat,it was a 160. Car runs around 180-190. Has insulation under seat and front floor matting. Any suggestions? Thanks
  14. Thanks for looking Chris. Can't think of anything else.
  15. Would like a set of bumperettes for my 35 Studebaker. Thanks Doug 402-699-7442
  16. Just restored my 35 Studebaker hearse. Was a fun project, most parts were already there. professional Car Society is also a good reference.
  17. Opinions? I have a couple of 37 Buick Roadmasters. Would like to take one to our Arizona home and leave it year round. with all the wood in the car , door frames, body, etc... would the high temps in the garage in the summer effect the wood parts? It would be sitting for 6 months during their summer months, gets pretty hot and dry. Thanks
  18. Thank You, Trailer is in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The wheels are the original that was used by Mullins. Don't know if they manufactured them used a different manufacturer.
  19. I tried bring a trailer but their response was I needed better pictures and more information. They didn't want a reserve on it, altho they did say they would when I said it was too risky with no reserve. I think my pictures are pretty good and there's not a lot to say about the trailer, I'd rather someone call and ask any questions. They were kind of insulting to me. I've been collecting and selling cars for over 50yrs so not like I'm a new comer. I think it would do very well but I did not feel comfortable with there responses. Thanks for the suggestion. Just bought a 1937 Buick Roadmaster Phaeton Convertible and running out of room.
  20. Don't know what GLWTS is? I would say mine is a lot nicer than that one, he was asking $6500 in 2014. I'm located in Council Bluffs, Iowa. IO had put in the add to make offer, hence , no price. I was asking $9500.00
