Attached is the original one my dad ordered for our 65 Riv. I was pretty young but I thought he ordered with a form he found in the car when he bought it in 1967? It does not look like the others I have seen?

Good job, looks great!

I am trying to work up the courage to replace my heater core. In doing so I was looking at old articles in the Riview. I was amazed at the wealth of great information in these prior Riviews. So I was thinking it might be interesting to reprint some of these older articles in the current Riviews. I was thinking mainly about the articles that are technical how to or restoration tips of specific components. I know they are all available on line, but it would be interesting to me to get one old article in each new Riview. Retro Riview. Just a thought. Bob

I finally got around to installing my vaccum tank today. It worked great, got my brakes back to where the were prior to the cam install. Cheap, easy fix!

It seem like most of my accessories (power seats, windows, windshield wipers) to name a few all need a seperate ground wire to work. Today while driving, I turned on the windshield wipers and they quit, turn them off and back on and got a shock. I am wondering if there is a master ground wire I dont have hooked up or has went bad. Any thoughts? THanks Bob

Yikes, I did not even think about all the other things that are vacuum driven.. My A/C and heat are not working yet so that issue has not smacked me in the face yet. Let me know if you find a good solution. I sure wish I would have gone back with the original cam spec...

I bought a vacuum canister from JEGGS. I have not installed it yet so cannot comment on if it restored my power brakes back to where they were before larger cam.

Thanks for looking.. Update, I got my new tires, used your walmart lead on an old post. I had a new exhaust system installed today, flowmaster 80 series, fits perfect where the original muffler sat. Sound good and the car seems to run much better. Once I get my headliner in I will be pretty much finished for now, really never finished.. ED, Thanks for all of your help, information and suggestions, I have used them often! You provide a valuable service to this community!

Anyone have a passenger side sun visor they want to sell?
-
When I rebuilt my motor I installed a larger cam, I think that is the right description? Well in doing so, I found that it does not create enough vacuum for the power brakes. I have a hard pedal.. I have found an easy solution which is to add a vacuum canister to fix the problem. The purpose of my post is to say, unless you really feel you need the added HP of a larger cam, I would always go back to stock. Really not a race car and really did not need the larger cam, just thought I would do it and now regret it. Not only the brakes but just the way it runs now, the surge when I put it in gear, rough idle etc. Just thought I would share my experience for any out there thinking of changing to a different cam. I was afraid that was the answer, lol. I dont know how I misplace things over 20 years and cross country moves..

Can anyone tell me if the 65 came with 1 or 2 sun visors? I took my headliner out 20 years ago, only have one visor and am wondering if I lost one or if it only came with one. THanks Bob

Ed, were you able to see if you have this wheel THanks Bob

so it mounts onto the cover plate. I could have studied this for 3 years and never thought to look at the cover. lol. And that is why I love this site. Thanks Bob

I am trying to reinstall my power antenna in my 65. It has been out for 15 years so my memory does not serve me well. I cannot figure out how or what the mounting bracket attaches to inside the fender. I cannot see anything that would be obvious except maybe one of the bolts that hold the fender well in? Any help, picture etc would be appreciated. BTW I have check the manual and it does not clearly show how this mounts. Thanks Bob

Tom, If I recall correctly Clarks did not have any green colors in the headline material. I would have had to go with Black or Tan. Material was correct grain. Bob

Hey Tom, Tried Clarks and did not like any of the colors they had for my color combo. Found a great light green I really like at SMS. I think it will look better then the original mint green color. Hope I am right. Bob
-
I followed ed's advice and ordered a sample from SMS. Material is 100% a match. They did not have the mint green that was the original color, but did have a lighter green which I actually like much better anyway. Going to order my headliner from them today. Thanks Ed. Bob

Hi Steve Mine came out well. I used epoxy putty on the back side to stengthen mine. I just put the putty along the cracks or breaks and once it set up it was very strong. I bought paint at the local paint store. nice color match but I am not sure if it is going to hold up to the wear and tear. And it was very expensive! Bob

Can anyone recommend a good shop I can send my Carbs to for rebuilding? Thanks Bob

http://www.stockinteriors.com/bowheadliner.asp?Itemid=12915&MakeId=3&ModelId=35 This is the place I found the material that appears to be a match to the original. The bedford under samples is what I was looking at.

I have a 65 Riv. Has dark green interior and exterior. The original headliner was a light green. The fabric design appears to be called bedford from what I have found on google. The problem is that I can find the correct fabric but not the correct color or anything close to it. They do have a dark green but I am concerned that might be to much dark green inside. My questions is has anyone found the correct fabric and color for this interior combination. If not I would like to know if anyone has switched to a different color for the headliner that looked good against the dark green interior. Any help, suggestions are appreciated, Bob
