  1. Hi Guys, My name is Charles Gould, and I was the successful bidder for this American Bosch S12 ignition switch. I was also the first party who Sandy contacted after doing a google search for Bosch S12 switch and coming up with my plea for an original key for this switch for my 1916 Mercer Touring car. I, too felt a little frustrated that the seller would not sell it to me outright after I shared so much information and told him that I would like to purchase it and was willing to pay a fair price for it. I have to say however, that he told me that he had at least two other interested parties, and one other offer, and asked if I wanted to top that offer. I declined a private bidding war, and agreed with his recommendation to list it on ebay to be fair to everyone, and in hindsight, I do think that this was the fairest thing for him to do. Although I paid a lot more than the first bid that he asked me to counter, and a lot more than I had hoped to pay, I was thrilled to win the auction, and I do think that his approach was more than fair. In my opinion, he was very honest, forthright, and the switch arrived exactly as described, so I think that he is a great seller with ethics. Now, once I remove my old switch and determine what is wrong with it, I may not need this entire switch, or I may have my old broken switch, or parts of it available to help others on this list who are still searching for a Bosch S12 ignition switch. It may be a whole switch or it may be parts sufficient to rebuild your switch, or it may be a complete but broken switch which can be easily repaired. I won't know until I get a chance to remove and disassemble my old switch. Although I have not yet decided to sell it, if I do, I will accept a reasonable price based on my cost to acquire this switch and to reproduce the key missing from my old switch, or i may possibly also list it on Ebay to be fair. If you are interested in following up with me on the possibility of buying this switch or these switch parts if I do not need them, please contact me at chasgould@mac.com or by telephone at (617) 965-4848 in the USA. Thank you.
  2. Approximately 25 years ago, I had a dark green 1911 Maxwell four cylinder Touring car. I sold it when I lived in Clinton Massachusetts, and I thought that the buyer was also from Massachusetts. It was a four cylinder model with no front doors (open) and no windscreen which was an option on these early cars. It had all of the brass lanterns, and I would love to know whether it is still around. Does anyone on this list have any knowledge of the whereabouts of this nice original early Maxwell? Where is it today. Please respond to me at chasgould@mac.com Thank you, Charles Gould (617) 965-4848
  3. @ersatzS2 No, I was not on this forum, until I found your post in a Google search. I have just joined this forum, and I was thrilled to see the NY Times article. I can't wait to see the print version tomorrow. I was also thrilled to learn about this forum, and thanks for directing me here. Please let me know details about your cars. Charles
