  1. The wrecker seems to be a circa 1920 Cadillac. The transverse mounted engine behind the cab may be a teens Buick. Winch power unit? Hudson/Essex sign upper left side of the garage door. The coupe may be a 1926 as I do not see the Goddess radiator cap. Motometer on the regular cap.
  2. Don: I am still waiting for a return call from the local guy. Stay tuned.
  3. Again Terry had his gage professionally restored and they did a fabulous job. He has photos. I can't find where I stored them.
  4. I believe the Fields quote was something like.. " My dear old Grandfather Lipvock once said (just before they swung the trap). You cant cheat an honest man. Never give a sucker an even break or smarten up a chump".
  5. Don, the photo of the white face one is the Master one I re-did. Here is what the 1927 aluminum Standard one looked like. Polished and coated with several coats of super glue. The acids in the degraded old fuel does a job on the aluminum. Rough surface. At least it function and is now readable.

  7. Don: The local guy with a 1924-45 has a spare tank that he allowed me to borrow his gage to try and duplicate one for my Standard. Of course the problem was that the 6 cylinder ones are larger. It does need restored as the plating was gone but is pretty intact. I will inquire for you. Photo shows that gage above in comparison to my aluminum 1927 gage that I put in my 1925 Standard tank. After I redid my standard and Master gages, I returned the 1924 gage to him. It was identical in style to the 1925 Master gage. The photo below is of both large gages. The white face restored one looks larger because it is closer to the camera.
  8. Your gage, part # 35345 will be the same for year/models D-E-H-K 6 cyl. 1921-1922 Models 44-45-49 -X44-45-49 I know terry Has some very good photos of his restored gage, for his 1916 D-45 and 1920 K Coupe.
  9. I thought that I would make my annual plea.... Several have shown up recently but again close but no cigar. One set is exactly what I have now except a non cut down version for a larger 1922-23 Buick touring.
  10. Just got a request from Marie about posting more photos . So I hope we can get this back into the discussion again.
  11. Had the rebuilt engine in my 1925-25 running off and on for over 1/2 hour today! Also yesterday went to the storage garage and ran the 1937 for a half hour. So I did sit in both and dreamed that I was driving....
  12. This mornings episode from 1962 had a 62 LeSabre wagon with black wall tires.
  13. Matt: So are mine on my 1937-41 still with original rubber.
  14. Paul: I have been watching Perry Mason for this previous year. I missed the Pilot episode from 1957 but have pretty much seen the later ones. It seems that the sponsoring car companies bounced back and forth from GM to Ford and back. The early 57 season showed Perry driving a dark 57 Retractable HT. Lt. Tragg and company in 57 Ford Cop cars. (also noticed many had no drivers side view mirrors). Paul Drake driving a "light colored sports car" (Corvette). Later in the season shows him in a 57 Eldorado convert. The second season was Buick heaven with many 58s spotlighted. The one I watched last night was from 1959 and had Perry in a 59 Caddy. Convert. Then several episodes go by and A 59 Thunderbird shows up. The early 60s episodes show quite a few Buick convertibles. The mid 1960s show Perry with a white Lincoln 4 dr. convertible. The original movie Perry Mason from the mid 1930s was Warren William. In some views during one of the 1934 series movies it looks that he has a 1934 Buick 90 series Convertible coupe. Alan Jenkins as "Spudsy" Paul Drake driving. From the B&W tone quality it may be like the Blue one in this photo.
  15. Marathon Man: They look great! Now you have given me another reason to come down to Nashville for a visit. When we were there 2 years ago the Marathon Cars you have I could only peak at through the windows. We had to amuse ourselves at the "Pickers" Store.
  16. This was the set up I saw on a 1924-45 I bid on. I copied it for my 1925-25. I used some left over rubber roofing.
  17. I will try to get Tom to commit to a price for the lot.
  18. A Mason-Dixon BCA club member has these pieces at what I believe will be quite reasonable in price. Contact Tom Siemons (717)-512-4498. Enola, PA. Across the river from Harrisburg.
  19. We sometimes see the ads for "Touring Sedans" which was an accurate body style description. That also sets off a bit of adrenaline until one sees that it really was a sedan. This ad I had ignored for several days on the Buick for sale forum. "1923 Buick 4Dr Sedan." It turned out to be for me "the stuff dreams are made of" (Maltese Falcon quote) A 1923 Model 55 Sport Touring! Needless to say I tried to get the car and we negotiated for over a month. It was sold with a 1922 Buick pile of parts chassis for $1,250 less than I offered. That was the 4th one I inquired about. Someday......
  20. To fit on my 1925 Buicks that take a 7/8" threaded plug, I took apart a old 2 piece 7/8" thread plug. I had the 18mm adapter to thread into the smaller end. A bit awkward but it works.
  21. Hay .....where did you get that photo? It sure looks like my kitchen table. FYI. I did do a light coat of copper spray on my manifold gaskets. The upper ones are new from Olsen's. They are twice as thick as the original Victors shown below. I did prep the NOS gaskets with a Scotch-brite and lacquer thinner before installation. I used new studs (Fastenal) and stainless nuts.
  22. Hugh: Sedan doors are somewhat different from our open cars.. I believe BOB's Automobilia may have what you need. Page 101 in Volume #63 2017-2018 Door Parts 1926-1933 Closed car Door Jamb Bumper 1"X1 1/8". 1926-1933 Closed car Door Jamb Bumper 1 1/4"X1 1/8" (May be for different series cars as I do not have reference to closed car parts books.) Check what you have. Closed Car Dovetail Rubber Bumper Also a 1926-1940 Upper center door post self holding bumper. (I need 4 for my 1937 Special sedan.) As Hugh has indicated some of these can be fabricated from the rubber he mentions. The "SQUISH" is perfect!
  23. The rubber bumpers are to cushion the door and to avoid squeaks. The problem is that they are probably petrified as the ones on my 1925 cars were. Hugh and I have made new ones and they work great. These sedan door bumpers are probably available from Steel Rubber.
  24. I rebuilt my pump in my 37 Special back in 1988. At the time I was able to get new gears. I cleaned the screen and lapped the bottom cover plate. We have put over 10,000 miles on the car in 6 years. Today I am still keeping 45 lbs pressure at normal running speeds. On an all day hot drive it drops to about 20 lbs.
  25. One of our Mason-Dixon members gave this to me at our meeting Sunday. Please contact him for any details and prices. Contact Tom Siemons 717-512-4498 Enola PA. Across the river from Harrisburg.
