Also they are used to secure the splash shields to the underside of the frame rails.

After 2 weeks on back order my 3/16" threaded tube sleeve nuts finally came in at my local Fastenal. $7.92 for a package of 10 Not bad except they charged $9.49 for S/H! So $18.46 including PA state tax. It may be better to see what their supplier charges with shipping. EATON 106-10003 Tube Nut P/N 6100X3

Lubricating the distributor on "Starter Generator" Buicks
dibarlaw replied to Hubert_25-25's topic in Buick - Pre War
Hugh : As I had shown you some of my other distributors when you visited the concern about lubrication was also discussed. The distributor that I had in "Beulah" was a cobbled up mess. The engine did run but I could shut down the engine by placing slight finger pressure on the side of it. That was how sloppy the shaft was. When I replaced with a cast iron unit things were tremendously better. The cobbled up unit above. They just turned a bushing to replace the original die cast section without any provision to get grease into the bronze bushing and thus the shaft. When I installed this cast iron unit I did pack around the undercut section before assembly. Note the added copper crush washers that were used as spacers on cobbled unit at right. -

Buick '28 model 54 sport rdsr mechanical gas gauge system
dibarlaw replied to John A's topic in Buick - Pre War
Actually the remote system was on the 1922 and 1923, 124" WB models 48, 49, 50, 54 and 55. So I think 1922 was the beginning of this system. -
Fastenal shows the 3/16" size ("Threaded tube sleeve nut")on their website and catalog. I ordered a pack of 10 and they have been back ordered for 2 weeks so it is not looking good. I checked with an older local NAPA store and they just had 3 left. Just enough to do my 1925.

Buick '28 model 54 sport rdsr mechanical gas gauge system
dibarlaw replied to John A's topic in Buick - Pre War
John: I believe the floats are pretty much the same on all these cars. But, both my cars have the tank mounted gage. My friend Dave B has a 1928-25 and all the 28s have the remote sender to gage via piano wire set up. -

Looking for a Repo Fuel tank for 1926 Buick
dibarlaw replied to Dave Chiotti's topic in Buick - Pre War
Dave. Standard or Master? Also the longer WB models are different and had a remote sending unit and the side mounted filler if you had a travel trunk. -
Chuck: I have seen this photo before. This was one of the west coast Howard Automobile company's service trucks. Oh yes would we not love to have that one!

Morgan : With the decorative bezel it is from a 1924 or 1925 Master series. I am running a double filament socket so my brake and tail are in the same unit. I ran the same Master taillight on my Standard for several years Now I am back to the correct simpler type A that came with the car. But, with the same double filament socket.
-
Mark: Some of the cars had the composite sewn straps. That is how I made the ones for my 1925 Standard. Then I found out the Master Parts book specified Harness Leather for both the 1925 Master and Standard. Other years before and after were like yours.

Love the "Torchy" series for the same reasons. Glenda Farrell and Barton McClain work great together. Last night on Perry Mason there was a variety of FMC stuff. Edsel Convert, other Fords and Mercurys. But there was also a new, White 1959 Buick Electra convert and Lt. Tragg's car was a Black 1959 Electra 4 dr. sedan.

Starter Generator clash with the sliding gear -pre 1925
dibarlaw replied to Hubert_25-25's topic in Buick - Pre War
It's in the mail. There will be a plastic Peanut Butter jar with a blue lid coming your way. That was how Gregg Lange would send the nitrophyl floats he makes. Works for me. -
Starter Generator clash with the sliding gear -pre 1925
dibarlaw replied to Hubert_25-25's topic in Buick - Pre War
Hugh: Stop, stop, stop..... Bingo!!! I see the problem. My pinion gear is 13 teeth 1.265 O.D. Gear face length is .967. I checked the 2 Master S/G (D 268) pinions and they are 12 teeth 1.420 O.D. . Somehow you have a Master pinion gear. I guess I have another package to send. Larry -
This one was on the 1915 Buick model 36 Roadster I bid on at the R/M Hershey auction in 2015. A variation of the Beacon light but with BUICK as part of the glass lens casting.

Todays episode had Bette Davis replacing Perry who was in the hospital. She was driving a 1963 Buick LeSabre Station Wagon.

Thanks Ron, see you then.

Thanks Mark: But I know that I have attempted to contact John several times since that Sept.18th, 2016 post. All I have gotten back since early this year (2018) was that he will check..

Ron: I have always avoided Facebook in the past since I taught at the high school. Obvious reasons of vindictive young people who would love to discredit a teacher by any means. I know my wife has an account. When I tried to access and join the new group it automatically used my wife's name. I like the forum as I am pretty used to it to communicate and post items. I fumbled around for a while to try and get set up and found it is not what I would call user friendly. Oh by the way the 1927 Buick photo is a 1928 sedan.
