I was about 5 hours from him, called him and he said that his health was going down hill fast and said not to come up here, so i turned around and went back home.   2. Hey everyone, i am looking for parts for my 1916 Ford Model T project that I am working on. Currently i have a frame, rear end, front end, and some other parts. I am needing a steering column, an engine ( assembled together or a block), wheels, etc. I am not sure what i want to do for a body, but i am open to offers as to what might be out there.   5. Hey everyone, i am looking for parts for an early Curve Dash Olds Automobile that my friend and i are working on. We are in need of the front axle, springs, front knuckles, and the rear pumpkin. We have a decent start for the car, but we need some parts to make it a roller. I know these cars are becoming harder to find, especially parts for the cars, but we would really appreciate it if anyone could help us as to where we can find the needed parts.   9. Hey fellow Franklin Members, my name is Drew Talbott. I am a recent graduate of McPherson College's 4 year Bachelors degree program. I had the great enjoyment and pride of working on our 1928 Franklin 12B 7 Passenger Airman Sedan for my senior project. So far last year, I ended up sorting through the parts and trying to organize them in a better fashion so that future students could find parts easier. I wrote up a log of every part I could find that was part of the car which for some reason isn't with the car currently.... anyways, I also managed to figure out what our running boards are a little bent and requires a piece of angle iron to hold them straight. I also managed to get all of the doors and the rear fenders in primer. My main projects and goals were to fabricate the drivers side wheel well for the spare tire, and fabricate the driver side lower hood as there was neglect and misdirection from previous students that tried to fix the problems through other means and just made things worse. Anyway, I started working on the wheel well and started forming it. About halfway through the year, things started going down hill and I became very stressed. The more I came into the shop, the less I got finished. So long story short, I managed to get my first goal of organizing the parts on the parts rack finished, however I came up short with fabricating the wheel well and hood piece. I wish I could have finished those pieces as I wanted to see the body, doors, hood, and fenders all in paint as I wanted to achieve something great in college. Things happen and plans change, I just wish I could have gotten farther. Anyways, I figure I would let the club know of the current progress of the project so you could get an idea. Unfortunately, I feel I should share this with the Franklin Club that I have been given the task to start packing up the project and moving it to our storage facility as there isn't any interest in the project currently and we need the room for other projects. I have been deemed the expert on Franklin Automobiles in the School and as such I will take on the project to get it back together and move it to the storage facility unfortunately. In all of the craziness of my life, personal troubles and tribulations, I have learned a lot about these truly amazing automobiles and will continue to learn about them. I would love to own one like this one day. Actually if the time came up, I would purchase our schools project in a heart beat and finish restoring this fine automobile myself. I hope this information has helped you all in keeping up on the project and keeping tabs on its whereabouts.... Hey Caddyshack, I may be a 22 year old college student that just graduated with a Bachelors degree in Automotive Restoration Technology, and because I am so young I may not know much because of my young age, but I do know a few things. One of the most important things I have learned is keep in mind that these cars are original only once, and of course I am sure you know that. It sounds like a pretty awesome automobile. Does it run by chance? Somewhere I have looked for prices for cars is in the price guides. Maybe this will help, maybe not.   11. Hey everyone, Drew Talbott here. So I have recently come across a frame that I think is pretty cool and unique, but I do not know what it is. Heres what I do know: 1. The Frame is at least 15 feet long. 2. It has running boards. 3. The Front frame horns curve down slightly to connect to the springs which are half elliptical. 4. The Front frame has spindles and currently has a wagon style arm on the front which lets me to believe that it was used as a wagon at a later time. 5. The frame is a bit of a weird design that I have never seen before nor really recognized. 6. The Rear frame is connected to a set of three quarter elliptical springs which has me scratching my head. 7. The Rear axle was turned around and a cover was installed on it which also leaves me to believe that it was used as a wagon later on in its life. Below are the pictures of the frame as It sat before I removed if from the falling apart shed it was in. I would like the help of everyone on the forum to see if we can figure out what this frame might be, and what year around it could be. I would sure appreciate it. Also in the pictures below, I also found a trunk that I have a better knowledge of being around the times of mid 20's to early 30's. I would also like to see if we could identify this as well, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks everyone. Drew P.S. I do apologize about the bad pictures.

  17. Hello there Fellow Studebaker Enthusiasts, this is Drew Talbott. I am a Senior at McPherson College in McPherson Kansas studying Automotive Restoration. I was going through my garage and I have a Studebaker Engine and transmission that is fully assembled, a Studebaker steering wheel and column, and another Studebaker bare block for sale. The Studebaker engine and tranny is a 259 cu. in. engine with a Flight-O-Matic Automatic Transmission mated behind it. This engine and tranny is from a 1956 Studebaker Power Hawk. The main numbers on the assembled engine block I found was V380484. On the transmission, I found the numbers 24292. Of course, the powerhawk was made in the days when Studebaker and Packard joined forces. The engine and tranny might have been rebuilt at some point, but I am not completely sure. I was told that the engine and tranny are low mileage, around in the 40,000 mile range but I am not sure. On the other bare block, I found the numbers 2E40I. I am not completely sure of the year, make or model of this block and what car it went in. The Steering wheel and column are from the same car as the mated engine and transmission. The only things I can see missing from the assembled engine and transmission are the carburetor, and passenger side valve cover gasket. I am asking $1000.00 for everything. However, if there is interest in a few things but not everything, I am willing to separate to sell pieces off. The engine turned over last time I moved it to where it is currently sitting.   23. The trailer was stolen from Webb Road in wichita. Next to mcdonalds, and taco shop. The trailer as far as we know is still in wichita. The people that might have it are contractors, car guys or people that mow lawns. Garyl us afraid that whoever stole it might have throw the parts in the trailer out somewhere and left them. I will try to get pictures of the trailer as soon as possible.
  24. Hey everyone, my name is Drew Talbott. I am new to AACA. Some of you may know me through a gentleman by the name of Garyl Turley of of Wichita Kansas. I help restore REO vehicles with him. So i have my 1934 Chevy Pickup Truck for sale. Its got the 216.5 Straight six in there with the 4 speed manual transmission. The body is green and and fenders are black. The truck is in pretty good shape. Basically i think a farmer tried to keep the truck in good shape so he painted over the original or older paint, did the wiring on his own, etc. The Good: Truck Runs, shifts well, good tires, body is in pretty good shape. The Bad: most of the gauges dont work, the fuel tank neck leaks a bit when filling up, Wiring needs to be redone, some scratches the cracked fender which happend by accident, but can be repaired. I really dont want to sell this truck, but i now have too many projects, im trying to currently restore my 1948 Chevy Panel Truck, and im just getting in a little over my head with that many vehicles. I would love for this truck to go to a good home. The truck is probably in time for a restoration even though it is in daily driver condition. I am asking $7,500 obo.   25. Hey everyone. my name is Drew Talbott. I work with Garyl Turley. Many of you know him as one of the main guys to know about REO vehicles. His grey 24 ft haulmark trailer was stolen in the past 10 days or so. It has two 57 chevys on the sides of it, one is red, and one is black.THERE ARE REO PARTS AND OTHER THINGS IN THE TRAILER, SO IF SOMEONE IS TRYING TO SELL REO PARTS THAT U DONT KNOW, PLEASE REPORT THEM!!!! Here is the story. Garyl Turley called to report that one of his enclosed trailers was stolen sometime in the last 10 days from his in-laws place on Webb Rd. It is a light grey, 24' long, enclosed, sloped front, Hallmark trailer with a ramp door in the back and a walk-in door on either side. It has a faded painting of a red '57 Chevy on one side and a black one on the other. It had parts inside that were to be moved to his garage at home. He said there were a lot of 1-cyl REO parts in the trailer. From what he was telling me, it sounded like fender brackets, maybe some boxes of small parts, i.e.- things it would take to put a car together. If anyone sees such a trailer, call 911 and report it. The police will take care of it from there. It took a couple of years but his last trailer was found. Perhaps he'll get lucky with this one too. Please "keep your eyes peeled". Thanks, Drew
