  1. 1930 Dodge DA-6 For sale. Runs good. Solid car, garage kept. Ran in the Great Race a couple years before we acquired it. Has most of the original parts. Also includes additional motor, transmission and other parts from a ‘29. More pictures available on request. 12k NE Pennsylvania.
  2. Ok I will hold off on sending in. Looking through the Dodge Bros. Club Roster I do see DA serial numbers with 6 digits, many starting with 11 or 12... And just found on the DB Club site they do go up to the 12xxxx range. So that looks correct I will still wait till you see what you find.
  3. H14-996 and H95-261 Have two engines so while at it I want to find out which one (hopefully one of them) is original.
  4. I will get a complete set of pictures to you this summer-interior/exterior-will use better camera and better light. The tag on the floorboard was missing. On the frame there is D,(),-,1,1,2,(top half of what looks like a 1), 8,8. The A, if that is what should be there, is gone because of a hole drilled in the frame at that spot. The spot with the part 1 has the same spacing between the numbers so I assumed it must be a 1, and not a dash or just indent where there should be nothing. Since it could be 6 numbers I will send it in that way and see, if they only did 5 numbers I would omit that 1 I am not positive about. Good advice on seat covers will do...
  5. Yes would like help finding dome lid-if anyone has let me know. Weep hole cover is there-just was pushed over. When we bought the car it was already set up with a fuel pump-so the vacuum canister/sediment bowl is not used. Thanks for the advice about items-will try and keep everything together. We bought the car as is-and have an extra engine and many other spare parts-want to keep all of the original stuff with the car even if not being used. Since this car was an AACA award winner in 1980 I think someone in the past took care to get things as original as possible-as nice as the interior is we assumed it had been redone... I don't think overdrive pics will help-it is a Borg Wanner overdrive, custom fit to the Dodge. It really makes a difference-gets rid of some of that bogging that happens between 2nd and 3rd. Sometime if we have it up on a lift I will try and get better pics. Serial number-I am sure of the 112 and then the 88. the 4th potential number could be a 1, but is only there in the top third. So my question is-did all the DA's have a 5 numbers to the serial number or did some have 6? I want to apply to get the build card and want to have the correct information. For the serial numbers with 5-is there a space between the 3 and 4th numbers when stamped on the frame? Another question on Carburetor's-we have the Carter BB model 4-A3 (third one we have tried). Seem to be having trouble finding one that gets the car to keep running at stops/turns(wants to stall) What RPM do you DA guys run at idle? It seems we need to run ours around 1100, when we thought it should be 700-800. But at that low RPM it will stall. No adjustment to carb seems to help. It also is doggy in the initial step on the gas for a split second then it goes. We are still thinking carb issue but....TIA
  6. Ahh thought they needed to be smaller...here we are
  7. Some more pics Last two are the overdrive. Kicking myself for not getting some pictures when it was out-needed some work-forgot to take pics before putting back in. You will see one of the switches for it on the shift lever-that puts it in overdrive pushing clutch in activates a switch that takes it out. Also a nob that can be pulled manually in/out to engage/disengage. Inside probably was redone in the 70's we think. Did finally find the serial number for the car DA-112188. (IS THIS CORRECT? I AM SURE OF 112, THEN THE 1 I AM NOT SURE THEN THE 88 I AM SURE. I also can't see the A at all but can see the D. So I just want to be sure of correct number when I send in) Will need to send in paperwork to Chrysler to get build sheet. Also check out this link-here we are rallying in Delaware. The Great Race News Just scroll down to bottom. Speedometer you see in pics is just a 0-50 MPH that shows every MPH-called a Timewise that is more accurate than normal speedos. Needed for the timed rallys.
  8. So what is the correct carb for this car/engine? What is the best performing one for it?
  9. No golf bag door. IDK about chrome around window frame, the way we bought it. Although I think this is the car that needed a new windshield on its way across the country in one of the Great Race's it ran with its previous owner, so probably not original. Will get some more pics I see your radiator cap is different.... Looks like you need to get it out more often! At least it looks like its out more than the combine its sitting in front of
  10. H14-996 and H95-261 are the numbers on the engines. Number on paperwork, but not found on car, start with H followed by 6 numbers. That is the one I am not sure about. Need to spend some time searching for it on the car. Had looked at previous suggested spots, but not on the floorboard. Oh, so the DA's dont have the Dodge 6 emblem. LOL well that explains things....
  11. I wanted to do the build card, but wanted to first be sure what I had. Now that I am sure it is a DA, I am thinking the H code on the engine could actually be the correct one? We have two motors and I was going to send in both codes to see which one was the original. Could not find any tag or ID markings anywhere on car. Didnt look at floorboard will need to check there. We are NOT running it hard! The rally's it does are below speed limit on normal roads. Just transits are not timed, so we may get it to 55MPH. Normal 3rd 40-45 is highest we go, then overdrive. It is actually a good way to get these old cars out for people to see them and appreciate them. It is a timed rally, not a race! Sometime check it out....Great Race was at AACA in Hershey past summer you will see it is not hard on the cars. Endurance tests, but not running them hard. It does keep them from becoming Hot rodded, plus it gets the younger generation involved in old cars(I'm 40), would never have become interested in old cars and keeping them that way until doing the rally's.
  12. Oh I see. The headlamps are mounted higher and on a chrome mount, DD is on a painted steel mount
