  1. Phil.....my husband politely asks you not to show me your professional system!! LOL I took a photography class with a local professional photographer and we used Photoshop Elements. I took my daughter's senior photos & used the Photoshop Elements to do touch ups. It's fairly easy to use & you don't have to buy the newest version! I bought my version on ebay. You can also go onto Adobe's website and you can pay a monthly fee to use either Photoshop Elements or the full Photoshop if you don't want to spend the money to buy the program!
  2. The photos don't do it justice!! The body looks beautiful!! The body guy went through a lot to get it this nice! We'll have stories about that later. According to Dennis, putting the body back on the chassis even made the body guy a little more excited than usual!!! Wish I could have been there to see it! Shannon
  3. Ron, I'm so glad to hear you made it home! Hope you had a good trip back! I'm so glad I got to meet you and Kerry!! Please give her a hug for me!! Shannon
  4. Bob, I can't stress photos!!! Rob is right about in EVERY direction! Literally every direction even if it means laying on the floor to get it! There has been plenty of times we've been working on something and didn't have quite the right angle in photos to see how it went back together! And believe me, I have taken a lot of photos! My husband isn't the best about taking them when I'm not out there in the garage with him! Labeling everything and keeping it organized like you mentioned is VERY smart! I can't tell you how many times we've found bags of bolts and can't remember what they were for!! When we were ready to take that back seat out, my husband just put in a piece of wood the correct length. Thanks for the compliment on our restoration. I'll have some more photos here soon to add to our post. The cab is painted. Just waiting for the doors to be done & the second color to be applied. Good luck with the restoration!! You know we are all here to help if a need any!! Shannon
  5. Bob, this is our first restoration. We used a fork lift to remove the body from the chassis. When we took the body off, we left the back of the front seat in to help keep the body sides from bowing outwards. We put it on a small trailer supported in the right spots with wood. It sat like that for a couple years before we were able to finally get to the body shop. The body shop ended up sandblasting the cab of our car with no problems, but our body has very little rust on it. The guy they had come do the sandblasting was really careful and took his time. The cab is almost done being painted and we hope to have it back on the chassis this next week. I'll let you know if we find any problems putting it back on the frame! I agree with Ian...stay organized, label things well and don't be in too much of a rush! We are fortunate that we live just down the road from my husband's power sport dealership. He just drove the forklift home one day in the middle of November, lifted the cab off, then drove it back down to the shop! LOL Good luck!! Shannon
  6. John, I'm glad to see you & Mike made it home safely!! I'm so glad I finally got to meet you and everyone else face to face!!! We had a blast hanging out with everyone, too!!
  7. These are a few from Meadowbrook on Thursday. The 3rd & 4th pictures are the last vehicles personally owned by John and Horace Dodge. They were on display at Meadowbrook.
  8. The first four photos are at the cemetery. The last two were taken at the Edsel Ford home.
  9. This was our driver meeting for Tuesday. Couldn't help getting a picture of Dick (Richard Taylor) photographing Barry Cogan with his megaphone! hehehe
  10. This was the view out my hotel window. Yes, it was quite a view! This side of the hotel was nothing but the DB vehicles!! It was impressive. My daughter has said since we've gotten home that she is going to miss looking out the window and seeing all these cars! Everyday I looked out the window, I was blown away! I will post more... Shannon
  11. Thank you guys for posting. I was fortunate to attend the entire week long meet. We all had a wonderful time and Meadow Brook was absolutely the highlight! It was wonderful to see everyone come out and see our cars! I feel very fortunate to have been able to participate in the event! Like others have said, it's really sad no media was there! Not even local Detroit media! But it still was a very special event! My only sadness is that we weren't able to bring our car because it wasn't ready in time! Shannon
  12. I may not post while actually on the road, but I can post once we get there! May take pic of crossing the Mackinac Bridge. Not bringing our car, so may be pictures of a newer Dodge!
  13. OMG....I just fell out of my chair laughing!! Thank you, Dave!!
  14. LMAO Dave!!! You're right, if he wasn't on here so much, he might get more done! LOL Oh wait....there's the fishing too!
  15. A friend of ours that works at the Chrysler dealership about 30 miles down the road from us dropped this off at my husband's business today. We haven't really read it yet, but did do some looking through it. They've got some nice pictures and did a much better job than what they did with the clothing they put together to celebrate 100 years of Dodge. I thought it was really nice of her to consider bringing us a copy of this. She knows we are working on our car. The third picture is the front end of a Victory Six! Needless to say....we love that page!! And who doesn't like some horsepower....my husband's dream car. He had the opportunity to ride in one when they were doing testing at a testing track they have up here. Needless to say he thoroughly enjoyed it, but truly wished they would have let him drive the car himself! We'll probably bring this with us to Detroit. Shannon
  16. Oh come on Scott....I'd like to see ya do the splits!! hehehe Thanks for the cheer team! It is greatly appreciated!! Shannon
  17. But that is the only place we've found it. Anywhere else that hasn't been completely painted it is a red color, like the under door panels and other spots.
  18. So, after we got the car out of our garage at the house, we started looking over the things that we pulled out. One of the was this dash piece. I didn't realize that if you looked at the backside of the piece, it was a blue. Now, you have to understand...John Bittence's large book of info says that our car, being built July of 1928, should be Ambassador Blue. That was the color they were doing at the time of our car's construction. But according to our inspection sheet we received from the Chrysler Archives, Calgary Green is the color of our car. The interesting thing is that the color code used is actually used for the Sport Sedan. We've talked with John about our car. He's only thought for our car being out of color sequence is that either the family ordered it this color or the dealership had. Unfortunately, Susan's father is no longer alive to ask if he knew if his parents had ordered the car the green.
  19. Thanks Scott! Here are a few of the photos from the move. One from our house, one at the body shop waiting for Lou to open the garage door. It was kid of bittersweet to take the body over there. We've been waiting for months for him to say he was ready for it that it was a bit surreal to actually take it over there! Oh, the reason Dennis is looking at the back end of the body is because all the wood underneath that corner had shifted the last corner he took! Any further and we would have had issues!! Thankfully we made it there!
  20. BAHHHHAHAHAHA Good one Scott!!! Forgive me, I was the one taking photos and didn't get the chance to load them onto my computer yet!
  21. Dennis, my daughter, Dyani and I will be there! Can't wait. Even trying to talk my dad & step-mom to come down from the West Branch area for the car show at Meadowbrook Hall. My dad would love to see these old cars!
  22. Oh....and the amount of wood in this car....didn't expect that! And it's all still in really good shape!
  23. So, we've continued with our work. We brought the body over to the house garage to work on removing the interior and other parts we had left on it. We had our body guy over to look things over and for him to be able to get a game plan together. He says in about 1 to 2 weeks he'll be ready to start work. So, that meant we had that much time to strip it down. Good Lord what a mess that was. I don't think I'll be able to feel like I'm breathing clean air for a while! First photo is after we took the roof of and pretty much all the interior pieces are out. The second picture we found this little tag tacked on the support post between the passenger side front and rear doors. One side has what I believe to be the numbers 3016. The other side is stamped with the letter "A". Interesting to find. No idea what they mean! Enjoy! Shannon
  24. Jack....be glad you have rain...they are talking more snow again here!! Ugh!!! I'm totally floored reading this post!! This is so cool!! Keep up the great translating guys!! You guys are awesome!! Shannon
