I had a 33 years ago and I think the wings went straight up, not sloped back like yours. I think yours may be a '35.

I'm not familiar with that particular clock. It would help if you could email me a picture of it so that I could see what we are dealing with. Bob.

Can't set the time on my 1937 Zephyr Clock
roadfossil replied to John_Mc's topic in General Discussion
I am a retired Clockmaker. If your clock is made by Borg, which it probably is, you need to push in on the knob when setting the time. -
I am a retired Clockmaker and now deal strictly in antique car clocks. Here is a very nice 1932 Buick 8 day clock. I have serviced the movement and it is in good running condition. The face is excellent, the hands repainted and the lens is blemish free. The bezel (trim ring) could stand to be replated for show. It is easy to remove the bezel, should you desire to replate it, it just snaps off and on. The knob in the center of the back to set the time is not original. The price is $550, which includes free shipping in the U. S. If you have any questions about this clock, or any other clock questions in general, you can contact me at bobspil@Comcast.net

A friend of mine had a very similar problem many years ago. Turned out to be water in the gas tank plugging up the sock filter in the tank. When you stop, the water drains back off the sock. When you start up again, the water builds back up, and there you go again. He cut the sock off and that ended the problem.

New glass clock lens for a 1938 Chevy clock. High quality, made using the latest equiptment. $30 delivered. Note: The '37 lens that is commercially available will fit a '38 clock, but the style of the numbers is not correct for a '38. Contact me at bobspil@comcast.net

I once worked in a chemical plant that had a very harsh atmosphere( acids, caustics, etc) and the stainless equiptment would rust.

I think "they" make gear assemblies that mount external to the transmission that are easily adjustable.

I have a clock business. Most car manufacturers used clocks made by more than one manufacturer for any given year, so either clock is correct for your car.

I have a clock business. It's not chevy. I have seen mid fifties Rambler clocks very similar to it.

Does anybody know approximately when the car manufacturers quit using cloth covered wire?

I bought new rockers for my '47 Ford. I would disagree as far as easy to fabricate. They were curved in two directions. Also were very difficult to install. (a body shop installed them). If the existing rockers are straight, then I would agree would be easy to fab.

why do you call it evilbay??

Early 50's Pontac clocks are much smaller.
