  1. Mine too. Maybe it's just a Portland area thing. (Just kidding. Actually, I suspect the trunk release solenoid is getting tired).
  2. Here's mine. Sorry about glare from the glass. Next time, I will use non-glare glass.
  3. Same result as olbuickman with use of Rhino Glue. I got the idea from a Corvette forum. One later, and the window is still secured!
  4. For a temporary fix in rear of my "vert", I hijacked a pair of 4 x 10's from a Fiero at the local Pick N Pull. Way better than I had...due to deterioration of the speaker foam. A better solution for the 4 x 10's would be from this website... Classic Car Speakers
  5. I had my shop install the Centric Brake Disk Hardware kits from Centric (from Ronnie's store) on the front and back of my 90. The brake rattle that has annoyed me since I got the "vert" is COMPLETELY GONE!!!
  6. Hey ol'yeller... here is the email response I got from the seller of the white vert in Seattle last spring..... And to confirm...my recollection was correct. $6500 was the price at the time. (I edited the sellers email address slightly...just in case he is sensitive about having his email address on a forum...) The car is all original, and very presentable.
  7. When I talked to him in the Spring of 2011, it seems that the price was around $6,500. I have not seen the car...I really wanted a Black / Tan, which I got out of Texas. I wonder what the problem with the top is? Mine was said to need a new top because the glass seperated from the top. The Corvette forum had a great write-up which I followed with satisfactory results. Gary
  8. Go for the white convertible that's for sale in Seattle! I too am in the great "North-Wet" (Portland area) and certainly enjoy my vert year around. As long as it's a secondary / fun car...who needs the top or for that matter, the A/C? It's been for sale for over a year...so I'm betting you could get a sweet deal.
  9. I agree, Bushwack - it would be a great plan to get pics while the wheels are off and the car is in the air...but I'm out of town. Sorry.
  10. Non-technical answer...a rubber "bumper" which is designed to slightly limit the suspension travel and/or prevent the suspension from bottoming out. When I get the car back from the shop I will try to get pic's.
  11. Rear bump stops are what he needed. He could not find - so he fabricated them.
  12. My 90 Convertible is in the shop for new struts etc. The tech says the rear "bump stops" need to be replaced...but he is unable to obtain the necessary parts. Does anyone have any ideas where to get these? Thanks!
  13. Thank you! That was it! (I swear I checked all of the fuses before posting my question.)
  14. The trunk release button and fuel door button in glove box of my 1990 convertible are not working. The key fob opens the trunk, but neither button in the glove box is working. Is this a fuse? Or a relay? Or just a bone-headed owner?
  15. So does 1 x REAR BRAKE DISC HARDWARE KIT from The Reatta Store do both sides?
  16. Thanks Steve! I will give that a try. Thanks for not saying "read the owners manual you newbie"! I now see on page 56 of the owners manual what you are talking about. I love this forum!
  17. Finally hit 80 degrees in the Portland area today...time for get the convertible out! The "dial" portion of the speedometer has lost all illumination  The digital / numberic speed readout operates correctly, as do all gauges and the tachometer. Just the "dial" portion of the speedometer is dark. I disconnected and reconnected the battery and checked all fuses on both sides of the center console. That did not fix it. Any ideas what is amiss? Thanks for your input.
  18. Thanks guy's!! I am leaning toward a set of 16" Lucerne wheels with an offset of 46 Sounds like they should work nicely. I am reluctant to go from 15 to 17 on a convertible---due to the cowl shake etc that the vert's are known for.
  19. What is the offset on the stock 16" wheel from 1991? I am looking at upgrading my 90 Convertible to a newer Buick wheel, and want to achieve factory spec (or close to it...) Thanks!
  20. My 135,000 mile 1990 Convertible is in dire need of struts, and I found a shop who will install parts which I will provide, and do the alignment for a reasonable price. Other than the basics...are there other suspension parts that I should consider purchasing and having installed at the same time? My initial shopping list is... 71854 Monroe Struts (front) 902965 Monroe Strut Mount Kit (front) 71966 Monroe Strut (rear) 902971 Monroe Strut Mount Kit (rear) Thanks for your feedback.
  21. The chrome trim around my center console is looking shabby. Any ideas on re-chroming or refinishing this? I searched and haven't seen this topic discussed since 2005, and that info was of limited value. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
  22. Don't click the link, unless you want to see a Reatta on 26" wheels... Courtesy of Craigslist from the Bay Area (Trust me, this is NOT my car) 1989 BUICK REATTA on 26'S. 122K miles
  23. Thanks guys! Unfortunately no Advance Auto Parts in my area. But online search show NAPA, Auto Zone, and O'Riley have it or can get it.
  24. When pulling the radiator in my 1990 vert, I discovered that there is at least 1/4" play in the dogbone (when manipulated by hand). Should this be replaced? If so, is there a preferred brand of part? Thanks!
  25. The silver coupe was shown next to my vert at the Portland area All Buick Show in August. It really is a beautiful car. If I recall correctly, the current owner is the sales manager for a local Buick dealership. He acquired the car when it was traded in by the original owners.
