  1. This one came in a box or should I say boxes as the owner took it apart 25 years ago and the rest of the story is familiar.
  2. I recently purchased a 1930 Dodge DC8 Coupe Convertible and among the things that came with the car were a pair of tire side mounts tie downs surplus to my needs. They are sand casted solid brass and have never been polished or plated. If anyone has a need I’m asking $50 plus shipping. E-mail wayne@mccargar.com
  3. Crazycars; I was out at a friends place the other day and saw a couple of Buick Buffalo wire wheels (with front hubs and axle) on his junk pile. If your are interested his contact info is Jim Morley, e-mail is mjmorley2@shaw.ca.
  4. I have a couple of Dole priming pumps for sale $50 each plus postage.
  5. Dave attached is a picture of my '26 McLaughlin Buick Model 26-20 data plate. Wayne
  6. You can use all black wires with a small piece of colored shrink tube on either end for identification. I usually replace the generic plastic on connectors with colored shrink tube it makes thing easier when and if they go wrong and it looks better.
  7. Dave you are right I posted the wrong drawing.
  8. If anyone is interested there is a way to use single filament bulbs as dual function bulbs. All you need is 4 little double pole double throw relays. wiring diagram attached.
  9. I know nothing about the air cleaner it came with the car but it seems to be all there.
  10. Anyone interested in ’26 ’27 Marvel Carbs. Both carbs came off running motors. I’m offering them to form members before they go to E-Bay. Make me an offer. No reasonable offer refused. I also have a ’26 air cleaner open to offers.
  11. Usually the green wire is RIGHT and the yellow is Left and the black/red to the "L" terminal on the flasher. A three wire switch only works with a single use bulbs not with a stop/signal combination.
  12. Thanks for the info. Idle is about 600 at 10-12 lbs so I guess I'm all right.
  13. Regardless of what the book says what oil pressure does a ‘26-’27 standard 6 really produce at idle on a hot engine?
  14. To prevent any damage to the hub caps I use a strap wrench. It also works on rad caps, oil filters and pickle jars lids.
  15. Can anyone tell me how, on a 1927 Standard motor the rear camshaft bearing gets oil? The ’27 motor differs from the ’26 as they added little oil reservoirs that feed oil to the front 3 bearings but the rear bearing is a mystery to me. There is a mystery hole behind the last lifter that seems to lead to the rear camshaft bearing but there is no hole in the bushing for oiling.
  16. Here is a couple of pictures from my '26 but the '27 is the same'. If you are worried about the rubber pealing the paint when removing just run a razor blade along the edge of the rubber first then paint under where the new rubber goes and nobody will ever know the difference. The pictures are window closed and open.
  17. I've tried every way I can but with the counter weights on the crank there isn't enough clearance to get the piston past the crank. I can't believe that they would build it without some way of getting the pistons out without disassembling the cylinder from the block. I was hoping there was a trick to it. Wayne
  18. I don't think there would be any problem prior to '27 but the '27 had counter weights on the crank taking up a lot of room. I'm hoping someone has a removal trick.
  19. Can the pistons from a 1927 standard be removed through the bottom past the crank or do you have to remove the cylinder section to get them out?
  20. I have a '26 cylinder section in good shape that's surplus to my needs. it more than likely needs honing/boring and shipping from Canada may be out to lunch.
  21. Floor mat. I got mine from a store that sells cleaning supplies etc to industrial users. They had difference widths and sold it by the foot.
  22. As close as I can measure the "F and E" are 1/4" high and the fractions are 1/2" tall.
  23. Thanks Hugh that makes it easier. Wayne
  24. Did Buick use fender welt on the '26 Standard? On other Fisher bodied cars that I've done they used welt but when I took this one apart it had none, so the question as I'm new to Buick.
