  1. I'm looking for original fender skirts for a 1935-36 Oldsmobile. If you have a pair or even one then please send me a PM with photos & details. Thank you.
  2. I'm looking for an NOS Transmission Counter Shaft (for the cluster gear). GM part number 553432 or Lempco T187-3. This shaft fits Oldsmobile '34-38, Pontiac '35-37 and Buick "34-37 (40) and '34-35 (50). Needs to be NOS with no surface rust, pitting or handling bruises. If you can help please send me a PM with photos, price etc. Thank you.
  3. Looking for fender skirts (the original factory flat style ONLY) for a 1935-36 Oldsmobile. If you can help please send me a personal message with details. Thanks
  4. Looking good, keep it up. Did you have many problems getting the later 230 engine to fit ?
  5. @philipj and @Bloo you mentioned above that you were keen to see a 5588. Well I bought a bunch of parts at an auction this week and amongst them was this 5588 regulator.
  6. Might be a bit late but this may help just a a little bit. It shows the rear door panel of an F.35 Holden Bodied Tourer. It has much the same pocket as what the Sedan doors have. The seats are effectively Sedan seats. I have a good set of Sedan seats that I will soon dispose of so let me know if you are in need of photos or even complete seats.
  7. Sorry I missed this post so you may have already advanced here. Stainless trims on the running board edges was a feature on 1936 L.36 8 cylinder models only. F.35/36 & L.35 were plain rubber - no trim. I have a couple of NOS running boards and the rubbers are definitely moulded on. They look quite nice but the rubber is now brittle but still a real challenge to get it off the steel core. As Jewell55 mentioned the 8 cylinder boards are longer by about 5 1/2".
  8. I stumbled across this photo of a barn find original F.36 which appears to have the original 5557 with flat faced cover (no retaining screw on the front face). It looks much the same as the 5585 on my F.35.
  9. Sorry, I'm too far away from you in Australia. But when you get desperate like I did at one time you buy a plane ticket for you and your grille to fly home. This is the only NOS grille I've come across and will hopefully go on my F35 in about 2 years.
  10. @Mkelsey7 Michelle, that grille is quite repairable if you have the broken pieces, if you don't then you need to search for another broken grille and weld pieces into yours . I've repaired one in much worse condition but the bigger challenge is usually how much pitting & corrosion there is to the surface of the grille. The welding on this L.35 was the easy part but rebuilding the surface for chrome is very time consuming. I'm about to start sanding the copper plating back for the last time on this one before the final nickel & chrome.
  11. I've only just seen this thread and will certainly do some more research tonight but just confirming that the 5557 is listed for both F&L 36 models in the January 1st 1936 Issue Olds Master Parts Catalog. The 1938 & 40 issues shows 5592. 1940 Delco Parts Book shows 1118213. So obviously a lot of changes along the way. Surprisingly I can't find an Oldsmobile Technical Bulletin on the initial change in numbers.
  12. How's progress with the floor going Bob. It's a challenging job but worth the effort. Keep us updated as you progress. Cheers Rohan
  13. I know this listing was posted back in December but if you still have this fender extension I thought I'd let you know that the part number 418742 suits 1946-48 Olds Series 76 & 78. Cheers.
  14. Yes agree, my problem is that I need an original core as I only have the standard wheel (without the the chromed wire spokes). From looking at the Buick wheel its exactly the same except the pressed metal logo on the horn button.
  15. I'm looking for a Deluxe Steering Wheel for a 1936 Oldsmobile as shown in the photo below. If you have or know of one in decent condition please let me know. I believe these were the same as used on '35/36 Buick too. Also interested in an original radio too. Appreciate any leads, thank you.
  16. Just for interest, that's a 1935 Olds heater you have. Hope it finds the right home.
  17. Hi Ric, Thanks for your message. The "98" used a die cast badge that included the trim that extends into moulding that runs along the sill. This badge was used on the smaller series '41 and '42 models. Ultimately my brother may well need to use these badges and make the trim part so I'll talk to him on this and email you on it. Regards Rohan
  18. Looking for a pair of fender skirts for a 1941 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser (98) . My brother's Phaeton is missing the skirts which only fit the 96 & 98 models. They have a combined die cast badge & trim like the one in this photo. Appreciate any leads. Thanks
  19. If you obtained this badge in Australia then you have certainly stumbled on a piece of Australian Oldsmobile history here. This is a badge that was typically mounted through the radiator cap in Australia and its from "The Oldsmobile Club" which was formed in Sydney (Australia) back around 1929. I've got a number of extracts from a NSW based auto magazine called "Motor Life" that recorded their events. The club lasted through certainly as far as 1931 but I've never seen any further details of it in any Australian auto mags beyond that. If your interested in more info, contact me through the Oldsmobile Club of Australia website and I'd be happy to send you copies of what info I have. Oldsmobile Club of Australia, Official web site If you look closely at your badge, they have certainly tried to copy components of the Olds Shield badge that came out in 1929 (you can see the acorns in the lower right and a poor attempt at copying the wings in the upper left of the badge). Would certainly love to see some more pics of it some time, as I'm a bit of an Aussie Olds historian. Cheers
