  8. This is a superbly detailed motorcar mascot for Automobiles Minerva, and an exceptional study of Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom and the arts. This is an impressively large mascot standing 5-3/4" (146mm) high, hollow cast and chrome plated, and exhibiting perfect definition and symmetry. There were a number of variations of the Minerva mascot, this particular example being found on Model 12 CV automobiles. Marked just above the base is the signature of P. de Soete (1886-1948), widely regarded as Belgium's leading early 20th century sculptor. The mascot spent many years in a significant European collection, and is in remarkable condition without even the slightest blemish, damage or repair. A threaded fixing bolt is included. This mascot is referenced in the most definitive books on the subject of vintage car mascots, Motoring Mascots of the World and Mascottes Automobiles, and represents an extremely rare find. Additional photos available upon request. $750.00. Contact me via email at jj.lowell@hotmail.com.

  15. Bill, According to the Lester-Steele Handbook of Specifications for cars 1920-1942, there is a weight listing for a 1921 Mercer Touring Car (Ready For The Road) of 4000 pounds. It doesn't specifically say Sport Touring, only Touring Car. I hope this is helpful.

  17. Rare, 100% original double-sided CHRYSLER MOTOR CARS porcelain sign in excellent condition. The sign retains superb colors and graphics on both sides with small areas of chipped porcelain. 20. The Stutz is no longer available for sale.
  21. For sale is this rare and significant 1929 Stutz M Custom LeBaron Limousine in original, unrestored condition inside and out, and the only remaining example of the Custom bodied LeBaron Limousine body style, Model M8-63, extant. The car is incredibly straight and solid, with a low slung body on a massive 145 in. wheelbase. Other quality features of this model include 4-speed transmission, wire wheels, huge Ryan headlamps, dual sidemounts, RA radiator mascot, decorative landau irons, roll down divider window, and excellent original interior upholstery with two jumpseats. The car appears to have been repainted the current tan color in the 1950s, and there is evidence that the original color was a dark blue. The fenders appear to have the original black finish. The top material is factory original and in excellent condition. Because of its many original, untouched features, I believe that only a sympathetic restoration could be accomplished so as to maintain this as a preservation car. The Vertical 8 OHC engine was partially disassembled many years ago, and will require a complete rebuild. All of the parts needed for the engine restoration are included with the car. Formerly in C. Cameron Peck Collection. Additional photos available upon request. Offered at $55,000.00. Contact John Lowell, jlowell@lowellmfg.com, or 314-724-1493.
