This topic can also apply to the sale of parts for your car when doing a restoration. When I first came into the hobby, 15 years ago, I paid some ridiculous prices for parts that I needed for my car. My car is about finished, but about 10 years ago I woke up and decided that I would only pay what I thought was fair. I have sent some parts off to others for shipping only. I believe that people new to the hobby should be educated to make sure the fun is not taken out of the hobby. This car does not appeal to me so any price would be too much. That said, I could understand asking 20K for the car (might take awhile to get that) so a person could make a modest profit after sitting on the car for 6 months, but 50K is a little blood thirsty. Maybe this is a topic for broader discussion regarding a business vs. people helping one another to help the hobby grow.

1938 Packard Straight Eight SHOW WINNER $47K

Perhaps the seller could afford a decent camera with the 47K he plans to make on the car. -
Still looking for this item.

1941 Chevrolet Special Deluxe Coupe - $25,000

Nice looking car, but I believe he is trying to recoup every penny that the seller has put into the restoration. -
I lived most of my life in Southern California, no shortage of sunshine there. That is why convertibles never appealed to me. I moved to Michigan for 12 years and that is when I understood why people like convertibles. After what seemed like 6 months of no sunshine you would want to spend every waking hour in the sunshine. That said, this is my favorite year Packard, but I would rather have a hard top coupe. Very pretty car though. Price seems a little high.

This is a handsome car that would fit your bill at a modest price. I have no interest in this car. -

I would also add if you are interested in a coupe, sedan and what area of the country you live in. Best of luck. -
No doubt this is a USED car. That said, if you can't find a two door 98 this is the one that you would want. The seller has made no attempt to clean this up and IMO that hurts his sale. The fact that it doesn't run also hurts the sale, but maybe that leaves some room for negotiation. I think that an optimistic figure on this car would be 5K. Problem is it needs everything.

Never seen this year Chrysler, very pretty car. I am not a big fan of yellow cars, but this one pulls it off. -

I got a pair for my '40 Super that came off of a LaSalle. The part numbers were the same, so other GM cars of that year more than likely used the same part. There is a guy in Long Island, Illinois that is parting out a '40 Super, he may be able to help you. Scroll further down on the parts Peterjohn72. Look under "Parts for Sale" posted February 23. Also if you come across a '40 Buick horn button, I am looking for one. -
It seems like he is serious about selling the car with the price reductions. What puzzles me is, if you want all the money for the car, why not fix (or replace that steering wheel and take care of the back window) even 46K is a nice bit of change for a car that needs to be sorted out. Just an observation, but it seems to me that the convertible top is not the same design as in the brochure.
