  19. Just to clear up the matter of the ACD web site. You do not have to be a member to post on the site but you do have to register. I also should mention that above the Dual Ratio casting mark between the two bolts you should find a stamping of the date of manufacture like 4x34, 5x35 which stands for month and year. The ring and pinion are usually not the problem. It is the planetary system. Removing the cover won't tell you the condition of that, only total disassembly. Cordially Mike
  20. Auburn used Dual Ratio rear ends from 1932 thru 1936. There are several different ratios. If you go to the opposite side of the housing from where the vacuum canister is located between two housing bolts you will find a stamping in the housing that will tell you the rear ratio. Such as 51x10,43x10, etc. The lower numerically the better. Dual Ratio rears can be the weak point for these cars and often require repairs. Asking prices at Hershey are usually $1800. to $2000 and quite often go home with the seller. This is because of the unknown condition of the unit. Cordially Mike
  21. I am looking for a oil filter canister for a Marmon 16. There is a booth at Hershey that sells repro. canisters with a modern replacable filter inside. Any one recall the machine shops name? CORDially Mike
  22. I have a 1928 Oakland motor for sale. It turns free, has a standard bore, 3.250, and is complete. It needs to be rebuilt. The motor number is L193477 and is located in western Mi. You may call 616-669-0046 for more information or email Mikespeed35@yahoo.com CORDially Mike
  23. These tires were three years old, the trailer axles have been aligned. This tire Co. has replaced the tires three times free. They have blown every time. I use load range E, the highest load range available. I will never us this brand again. The tires were warranted by the local tire Co. I will see what they do when I bring in the shreads! CORDially Mike
  24. Another Flat tire near DesMoines caused us to stop for the night there. After the purchase of four new tires for the trailer, we were on the road again. We finally arrived home about 11PM. Does anyone have suggestions as to why tires with less than 8000 miles on them would blow? The trailer is not over loaded, has been balanced, and the trailer is usually stored inside.
  25. We are on the road again!. The truck is fixed! We picked the truck up around 11 this morning, drove back to Gillette and picked up our trailer and finally got underway again. Around Sturgis, SD, we got the signal from a trucker that we had a flat tire on the trailer. Yes, that the second trailer tire this trip. It was 100 degrees outside and the sky was hazy and smelled of fire. We ended the day in Murdo, SD. </SPAN></SPAN>
