  1. Hi Peter Findlay - I a man Keith's mom. My great grandfather bought her new. My dad, at age 13, bought it from him when he was going to get rid of it. It will go to my son at some point. When my folks were first married this was their car. One of Dad's job was teaching colleges level physics and calculus. The college paper had a story that the youngest instructor was driving the oldest car. Suggestions here have been good. I now have a contact here in Bend Oregon for helping with this problem. Will figure posting some pictures.
  2. Thanks. will check into that. Joanne
  3. New here, but member of Reo Car Club and their forum. 1917 Reo Roadster, 4 cylinder. My great grandfather bought her new. She has never "not run" although spent years being driven not more than a few miles a year. Last significant work was when my brother worked on her in the 1960's. Currently I had the hunch she needed some major evaluations & I was right. I have posted on the buy/sell list here about my most needed elements for the rear end. But looking for any suggestions for support in putting her back on the road this summer. Looking forward to seeing what this forum has to offer in addition to the Reo forum. JB1917reo
  4. I am new here. But have a 1916/1917 Reo Roadster that my great-grandfather purchased new. She has never "not run" but at the moment is apart and it turns out the rear axle has major issues. Minimally need the 1. 12 tooth pinion gear 2. right axle tube assembly with backing plate Preferable would be the complete rear axle with pinion. Any information or recommendations welcome. I will follow up contacts - then have the mechanic working on the car for me discuss specifics. Joanne islesannie@yahoo.com please put 17 Reo in the subject if you contact me
