  1. That's not a Packard body used for the cab. If it is it's something really custom coachbuilt but I'll hang with it not being Packard. That said, and rolling with all the other price talk, if it could be brought back to running condition it really is worth close to the advertised price. Who's willing to build a "new" one? And even if you did would it have the spirit this one has? No. Since it came from a noted enthusiast I'd be willing to bet a good cup of coffee it has a real back story as well. Some tangible history to season the kool factor beyond dollars and sense. Just my .02. Wishing all a happy New Year.

  3. I love the site, don't want to create the wrong impression. But like home sales, if it sits too long and doesn't sell "...must be something wrong with it.." is easy to set in. My Super Clipper was here for over 2 years. It's likely one of the very best deals in quality and price for a senior series Packard. Just short of 9000 views, yes nine thousand, and I still have it. I'm not interested in give away pricing that helps drive the values of everyone's car down. And the "...nobody wants these cars..." discussion is as wrong and boring as it was in the 70s. This Cadillac is pretty much a dream given the quality of the sheet metal and overall above average condition. Not lowering the price much either, especially since Hagerty has #1 at $134K, #2 at $92K, #3 at $59K. It's not a full 2 and above the average 3. Someone's going to be dancing in the street if they step up on this one. We can hold out. Thanks for the comments. And no, I can't trade because it's not mine but the Cord sounds interesting.   5. These fit 6cyl Mopar engines from 217 thru 230 CID. Nice new pistons in proper oversizes (who needs std, right?). Shipped in the lower 48 for $95 or pick up in Monroe, MI for $75

  7. While lovingly admired at Hershey I brought it home. Look close, other than a necker's knob at some point not a single crack to be found. Even that minor scar could be just sanded and smoothed over. I'll listen to reasonable sincere offers but it's a really good one.
  8. Armed with lovely sunny but chilly Michigan weather she's taking us to lunch today. Hasn't been started in weeks and it was over a month then. Boom. Lights right up, but why shouldn't it? It's not a project it's a perfect tour condition car. Now if someone wanted the most perfect icon of a restored 47 Model 62 Conv this would likely be the lowest priced restoration ever done on one. "C'mon Jocko, you can't be serious. That nice?" Yes, but don't take my word for it, come and see for yourself. Or ask me to take an up close hi-res photo of something you'd like to see. I won't pick on the car that auctioned at Hershey last week but it brought $88K all in and needs things. I'm $20K less here and heavily documented as well. You'll be sorry you missed it.
  9. It's nothing like a 32 Chevy or even Cadillac bodies. The sills can be an issue but only the worst of the worst. Best way is one side at a time and section rather than full sill. Roof slats are pretty straight forward, even door wood isn't rocket science. Packard used the best of everything, including engineers and craftsmen. Sedans are the future. With most rag tops well into 6 figures now those elegant luxurious sedans are gaining in the pecking order.

  11. I have several sets of NOS vintage Thompson/TRW Pistons for Plymouth, Dodge and Dodge trucks that run the 3 1/4 bore flathead 6. I have .020, .030 and a limited number of .040 and .060 oversizes. Set of 6, pistons with wrist pins, $75. Can pick up at Hershey spaces OBC 26-27. Will ship as well but AFTER Hershey.

  15. This is, without a doubt, one of the most sound and solid Cadillac convertibles I've seen in decades. Rust is an expensive problem on these cars and this has NONE. EVER. And born a stick shift with all of it's "pedigree" paperwork too? You can't miss.
  16. This is a great car and very heavily documented. Ask questions, look at the huge pictures close. All the original fasteners are still in place. Runs perfect, starts every time hot or cold.

  18. These are "run forever" machines. I've had one since the early 80s and it was old then (!) but still works like new. I highly recommend it.
  19. I have a full set of 16 Cadillac valves, brand new TRW parts. The exhaust are TRW S2663 seen here: https://www.summitvalvetrain.com/catalog/interchange/valves/trw/s2663.html The intakes are TRW V2664 seen here: https://www.summitvalvetrain.com/catalog/interchange/valves/trw/v2664.html The intakes are in individual sealed plastic bags, the exhaust are wrapped in heavy paper. I could lay em all out and take a picture if needed but they're simply new valves in the box as shipped from TRW. These are NOT reproduction, new imports, etc. NOS good ol American parts.
