1965 Buick Riveria - 401 - Clam shell assist springs
whitewatersky replied to Jim Milewski's topic in Buick Riviera
ahhhhh - this is scaring me for my 65 Resto hasn't been driven for 15 months.... not that I have problems (had?) with my clamshells, but all the little model specific details once we dig into the work ... yikes ! can't wait to drive her again -
wow ! this is awesome - cool links Ed. this looks cool: love this image too:

65 Riv - passenger rear window won't go up all the way
whitewatersky replied to a topic in Buick Riviera
great advice - funny - mine has always been a bit slow I've thought I should tackle it one day but haven't got around to it... thanks guys ! -
actually, as per your email I looked at our Production Serial #s Tony: Tony: 18343 Me: 279947 maybe yours was built Sept 64 and mine in July 65 ? Speculating this since 34,585 65 Rivs were produced and gawd knows how many other models at Flint plant.... thus accounting for the big gap (261604) in our serial #s or maybe the Serial # is completely independent of sequencing....? or maybe Tony's car was the 18,343rd 65 model Buick or GM car made in the 65 model year run? or then again, maybe NOTHING like this...

http://rivowners.org/features/Ev_Stats/colortrim/options.html same here. so, does this mean that my car was built 4th week of July? the decoder says Model Year – NOT built year…. i.e. it's the 65 Model Year Riv. So does anyone know the months between which they made 65 MODEL YEAR Rivs in 1965….? e.g. did they make 65 Rivs from Sept 64 til Sept 65 ? or throughout a different period

Looking for a well restored 65 Riviera
whitewatersky replied to whitewatersky's topic in Buick Riviera
Thanks. I'll have a look! -
Hi, we have our 65, which we love but I'm exploring the option of getting a better condition 65 as an alternative to restoring ours. I'm going to be in California in a coupla weeks and just writing here in case someone is looking to sell or has a friend looking to sell a 65. Thinking it could be a well restored car or a car that simply needs a new paint job. I live on the coast and the car spends 100% of its time within 3 miles of the ocean so it'd have to be a rust free car. Sorry to be a pest - just throwing it out there, cos ya never know what's around. I'm keeping an eye on craigslist (where I found our car in KC, thanks again Ed!)

FS: 1963 Buick Master Chassis and Body Parts Book
whitewatersky replied to Jim Cannon's topic in Buick Riviera
Hi Jim, I have this book, kindly provided by my Riv's previous owner. I recall seeing that there's another book, but I can't remember what it's called. Do you have it? I'll take whatever you have on the '65 aside from this Service Manual. If you advise amount I'll paypal. Thanks -
