  1. I’ll measure tomorrow. Doesn’t sound kosher though
  2. Set of six (6). 600/650x18 white wall Lesters for sale. $250 for all. Will deliver to Hershey. See example photo ( this was a side mount)
  3. Thanks, John. PM seemed to go. ECCO - call my cell 814-233-8856. Or text is better. I’m out of pocket tomorrow. Tom
  4. ECCO machine. Sent you a PM of an email of a guy that has 1928 72 parts. im not sure if the transmissions interchange though. Please check and confirm. good luck. My 29 75 is a great car. Just came back from the vintage tour and spent time touring in NH. Tom
  5. In 8th grade, my home room teacher - Mr Wayne Friedhoff ( and our math teacher) had a spectacular class - the math of cars. He was a great Buick fan and would bring his 1931 8-57. and we learned wheel base, displacement, etc. We trooped out to the stairs and sat while he went over the car. That car also had bud-vases. Which were later removed. The sons dont recall them - but they were younger and the car no longer has them. Mr Friedhoff eventually restored the car and it was GN car. His sons still own it. I remember a lot from school but that was particularly vivid. He didnt have anything in them but the vases - only one on the passenger side C pillar. Maroon car. Black fenders, wood wheels. Mario and Terry, thanks for the memories. 50 years ago. Tom
  6. What paint or caution are folks using on engine bolts and nuts especially exhaust system to stop light rust from occurring? thanks in advance
  7. IMHO, the most desirable carburetor … the one that works for my cars. sorry. id like to hear from carbking and others about the carbs used on dual-fuel tractors. That started on gasoline and switched to kerosene.
  8. Thanks. Can anyone share a photo of the wiper motor?
  9. The insert in AACA magazine of this year's Zenith contestants..... The discussion on the 1929 50 series sedan - it says that this was the first year for NEW dual ELECTRIC wipers on closed cars. Is this accurate? the linkage for dual wipers ( a TRICO) was vacuum. Was there an electric option? Very curious. If so, was it a dealer option? was it available for other years? Tom
  10. Tires on that A look like Bs.
  11. Mark, why do you have carpet under the Buick rear tires? Tom
  12. Duesenberg would look odd - to me- without its mascot. The think the standard winged 8 on 30-31-32 Buicks looks quite nice - clean. The winged cap on 29-30 Chryslers looks very nice and clean - to me. I like the impala but like the minimalist wings better. Bugatti elephant is a bit much but certainly iconic. I think it looks 'better' without it. Bentley, Jaguar, Hispano Suiza stork - that is cool. better with. Not so much the quail on Model As.
  13. Carnegie Radiator. Gerry Skvarna - semi-retired but still works on selected vintage stuff especially this kind of stuff 412-760-8419
  14. What and how are folks cleaning old grime - pretty hard - on chassis? it can be scraped off with putty knife. Ay spray material to soften? Thanks, Tom
  15. Thanks, John. Can you provide the radius and tang dimensions? it looks like the wheel wrench was a true multi-tool. Should be esy to fab and better than a screw driver and hammer. Tom
  16. Does the Fisher body manual that covers that year have it? the 29 Buick group has a really fine following - I’m certain they will know.
  17. Can someone provide a picture of the tools that Chrysler supplied for the 1929 75s? actually, all I REALLY want is the packing nut wrench. I THINK it was year specific? Thanks in advance, Tom
  18. What vacuum are you measuring? check torque on exhaust bolts- do not exceed 30ft-lbs. best to torque to 25, run, cool then final 5. ( long story about that leaking and the chi biting similar behavior) the air cleaner is a second generation. It has the drain. That is the B model fuel pump. Reconfirm the carb number. A 10-196? doesn’t sound right. The air screw detent looks proper ( at least as marvel described proper adjustment- even with top of screw. Then minor mods fir fine tuning) that it ran well, then it was relocated and now doesn’t run properly is strange
  19. Philosophy has the 'ship of Theseus' experiment. Is the original wooden ship which has had every wooden component replaced but replaced exactly as the initial ship? ( over time) the same ship? It is a very interesting discussion. There is no concrete answer to it. Is Notre Dame 'the original' since the fire to her roof? You decide.
  20. I lost the info. My 29 series 75 passenger window crank ( original pot metal) is swelled fairly well. I thought there was a gentleman is Australia that reproduced. the boss rides there and while the l’m super lucky she just doesn’t complain, I know it isn’t comfortable. thanks in advance. Tom
