Lack of availability - reproduction tires
tcslr replied to Joe in Canada's topic in General Discussion
Joe, What car are these going on? I'd have thought your Cadillac is 17 or 18s. Hope the family is well. Tom -
Looks like skirted fenders.... if possible, can you post a photo of the car? Would you provide some description of the modern road numbers? Thanks in advance. ( for 1931 Buick, 1929 Chrysler, 1932 Chevrolet - if that matters)

Bruce makes SS wheel bolts for Packards. These bolts are the same Chrysler used. either part number 14106 or 146108. But ask. Bruce W. Blevins 9157 Timberline Dr Grand Blanc, MI 48439 810 287 7722 blevinsb33@aol.com -
The door is used to adjust the shoes after relining. As John said. The 75 manual discusses the proper adjustment. It’s easy. These two photos might help. The door is centered over the four 9/16 nuts. Then tightened as a helper applies pressure.

I have a Carter BB-1 on my 1929 75. Very satisfied. -
My coupe had 4.3. The pinion failed - a known issue. I replaced with 3.9 from a 72 - it does run faster and lower RPM. I might try a bit higher speed but it just seems nice 35-40 - it can do 45 ( easily) but why race? I stay at the 35-45 range - maybe from habit? It looks good motoring down the road. It is extraordinarily fetching -IMO - and I feel wonderful driving it. I had it 55-60 with the 4.3 - didnt like it. What mpg do folks get? I get 12-14. I drive in areas with hills though.

35-45. That is my 75. Slower is nicer.

Good for you! just curious, is it a model B? Or D? Pump. the pump is actually fairly easy to rebuild.

The 1929 75 closed car motor is a fairly rare motor. It has two ports. The second port was to ‘park’ the wiper blade. I’ll try to remember to photograph mine tomorrow. might have some records on Tricos model number too. -

I recall it vividly. Watching the latest shows of that day - the thing that came through most was the sheer goodness in so many people helping others that day. There was one comment about the FDNY, the folks going up to assess and fight reportedly said to each other they didn't think they'd survive and didnt - that comment reported by other FDNY who were working near by and survived. There is evil amoung us - but more good.
-
If I owned one, I'd drive it. Maybe not race but drive. Maybe rent a track and try that - gently.

I’ll measure tomorrow. Doesn’t sound kosher though
