  1. Definitely sounds like something is broken. I was thinking maybe the parking prawl broke off in the transmission and is banging around in there?? Haven't had a chance to pull the tailshaft off yet to inspect.
  2. I just purchased a '60 Electra Flattop. The car had been sitting many years and the previous owner bought it non-running as well. Got the motor to fire up and idle. The car rolls even though the gear selector is in park. When I attempted to put it in neutral with the car running. The transmission made all kinds of "bad" noises. Tried drive, same thing. I ran across another dynaflow out of a '62 LeSabre for sale that is supposed to be in good order. I know the '62 was an open driveline as opposed to the '60 torque tube design. Are the rear sections of the transmissions interchangeable? Are there any other differences that would cause problems with a swap out?
  3. Went to put the top down today and the switch broke. I believe the switch is the same ‘71-‘73 Any help would be much appreciated!
  4. Wow! nice work so far! Here is a pic of the belts. If this color will work you are welcome to them! It'll be a while until I can get them out. They aren't perfect, but should clean up.
  5. Longtime Olds fanatic. New member with a recent purchase of an extremely clean one owner ‘72 Delta 88 vert.I really like the look of the SSIV wheels that were offered that year and am looking for a complete set for this car. Does anyone know which trim rings will fit these wheels and look the closest to stock? 6. I was planning on keeping this one for a while, but my other project is due to be finished sooner than expected and I need the garage space. I've listed it on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-Buick-Electra-225/273807287390
  7. Thanks so much for the detailed response! I’m going to try and work on it this week!
  8. I was rebuilding the carbs on the Electra. And the floats seemed to be set really low. I set them according to the settings outlined in the shop manual and now the car is running really rich. (Floats set too high??) can any carb guru here point me in the correct direction? I dumbed outband didn’t measure the original setting before I screwed with them...
  9. In need of a blower motor switch for a '64 Electra with A/C. Also need the cover for it and the AIR cable as well. Ben
  10. I've torn into the dash try and get the HVAC back up and running. I've noticed quite a bit of vacuum noise coming from this switch when its in any position other than the HEAT position . I pulled it apart and it appears that there is a passage to atmosphere. It is supposed to operate like this??? I cleaned the switch and applied some high vacuum grease. Everything else looks OK.
  11. Do you need to use the stainless gaskets at the bases of the carter carbs on a dual quad intake? I think I read somewhere that the felt ones were OK by themselves.
  12. It actually happened on a cold engine start. However, it seems to have stopped now.
  13. I rebuilt the rear carb on the Electra. It now starts and runs, however the carb is now leaking on the passenger side rear shaft. the rebuild kit didn't address this part of the carb. I soaked the entire assembly in carb cleaner for about :30 during the rebuild process. Is there a seal here that is replaceable or am i dealing with another issue??
  14. I did however see a 3/4” hex head for the filler. I’m assuming that means posi?
  15. Crawled under the car today. Didn't see a POSI tag.
  16. It has the yellow needle and it also has the trunk release in the glove box.

  20. I was wondering if anyone knows how many 425 Dual Quad 4 door hardtop Electra's were produced in 1964.
  21. I am in need of a set of rear quarter panels for a 2 door 1969 or 70 Buick Electra. Anybody have anything? Ben 913-991-8881 bjfox@dfserv.com
  22. I am selling my 1965 Gran Sport project. The good: An almost rust free body. Car came out of Oklahoma. The body was stripped to bare metal and put into epoxy primer before I purchased it. The only rust through on the car is some pinholes in the rear quarters. Nothing a small patch can't fix. (If you've ever restored a car before you'll know how much body work can run. The body is the reason I snatched this one up) Car still has it's original numbers matching drivetrain. Originally Silver with Black Deluxe Interior (Non vinyl top) Has the wood wheel, power windows, A/C, rear defoster Have several pieces of extra chrome etc. Issues with car: Original engine has crack in cooling jacket (Have been told this can be repaired) (A 401 short block comes with the car if wanted. I was going to fix the original.) Some light body damage (worst part is the rear of the drivers fender) ('64 fender included to use as a patch) Car had shaved door handles, trunk lock and custom headliner (Other than that its stock) Missing: center horn button, valve covers, air cleaner, headlight motors, door handles, trunk lock, keys, rocker and door lower deluxe moulding pieces (I believe there are 8 total pieces I have 4) Seats, door panels, carpet, engine, tranny, exterior chrome, grill, bumpers were removed for stripping and primer. Hood and decklid were still in bare metal when I bought the car a few years ago. I never got around to priming them, as a result they currently have flash rusted and will need stripped again. (Not rusted through) The car has been stored inside my warehouse since I bought it. Selling because I am currently restoring another car and need the funds to finish that project first. Ed Rainer (RivNut) has seen the car in person and can vouch for it. He has been kind enough to allow me to use his good name. Car is located 50 miles south of Kansas City. These are the only pictures I currently have. I can send more to any interested parties upon request. Any questions feel free to call or email. Ben Fox 913-991-8881 bjfox@dfserv.com Price is $7500
