  1. Yes it is. It would have started live out as 54 roadster. It’s very very cool. I’d sell some of my Hudson’s to have that.
  2. I’m curious about if you can us a the Chev 292 ?
  3. That’s a shame the windshield is missing. likely the nail in the coffin for this one. I believe that’s a Briggs body. All wood.
  4. I’m waiting for Mr Coutinho to figure out the Kimono car from about the same time period. truly impressive on your identification skills Sir.
  5. I know nothing of your particular car , but standard flathead timing is best achieved by using vacuum gauge. goal is to achieve maximum vacuum. start at where you at timing wise. Adjust your air screw at idle to get maximum vacuum. Then advance the distributor to achieve even more vacuum ( if possible) then go back to the carb and tweak the air screw to see if you can more vacuum. Keep repeating this until maximum vacuum is obtained at idle. then retard the distributor to get one column less of vacuum and lock your distributor. if your getting between 18 to 21 of vacuum your engine and carb are in good in shape. after that if your not happy check plugs and leads. for compression you should only be concerned with even compression at this point. If not even do a “ leak down test “ and this will tell you if its rings, valves cam timing ect. good luck.
  6. Before you do anything mic the thickness of your head , then find out what the minimum usable thickness is of the head you have. That is step number 1. The head you have may be milled below allowable tolerances.
  7. Casting # 10-177 is 1930 Buick Marquette
  8. If you give the # I’ll be able to tell what your Marvel came off of.
  9. There should numbers on the two cast iron parts. If you can find them post them and I’ll be able to tell you what it came off of. The box part is the carburetor. It’s home made.
  10. Be aware that you don’t want a first series 27. They put the plugs on the wrong side and pings under load. the 29 is by fare the best if you looking for a speed project.
  11. I’m going to say it’s a Marvel. the box looks homemade. it looks very interesting.
  12. That’s great you guys!! Thanks for all your help.
  13. They got the front end soooo wrong. to bad. If the front axle was where it was supposed to be it would look much much better.
  14. Boy oh boy , seeing first pic with the 504. Does that bring back memories. my dad was big on French cars. Had them all and lots of them. He convinced my grandma to buy a new 504 in 78-79 or so. luxury to the 9th degree inside the cabin but, what a dog to drive. It’s by far the most gutless thing I’ve ever driven. GREAT PHOTO’s and thank you for sharing. PS, didn’t see any R17 Gordini’s in your pics. I got my first speeding ticket at 16yrs old in one of those. Amazingly fast car for the era. thanks again. Good memories of dads French car phase.
  15. Hi all. Any one know what a set of carbs and linkage would be worth? Rebuilt or used. I’m looking at one that someone swiped the carbs off and need to know what they are worth for negotiation purposes. I’m unsure of the engine size for that year.
  16. I’ve been reading over this for a while now. Everyone has given great ideas to help out Timecapsule. It has me stumped for sure. Timecapsule has explained himself very very well and clear. my suggestion is a hidden under dash stereo with a big volume knob.
  17. At 20k there is some wishful thinking going on there.
  18. It’s German. model is Shepard possibly in Police trim
  19. I believe they will but only if it has the early Delco distributor. But I’m guessing from memory so….
