  2. I have a buddy that is replacing body panels and some frame work. he needs the body measurements like the door opening and front frame to fenders and grill. he has the doors on it but it does not seem to be correct. I have been working with him but i'm not good at body stuff. is there any books or paper work that I can get for the specs. I have searched on the net and called a few dealers plus some shops but no luck. it seems that bmw really don't have any records of this type of job. I know these cars are hand built. there had to be something they had to go by. please help.
  3. just to let everyone to know about what happened to the car. it was stored in storage bin. yes it was stormed over. no the pictures are not photoshopped. had the real papers to the car from the state. but because the state could not get funding for the project we had to box up the parts we took off and they put it back into storage for future restoration.
  4. i'm restoring a 1968 galaxie 500 convertible. where on earth can you find the front door armrest and vent crank. i have checked e-bay, googled, restore parts venders and junk yards. For some reason that this door is really special. the armrest is a 3 screw hole. first to second is 6 inches. first to third is 14 inches. i never had the old ones so i have no idea what the cushion looks like. also i have 1 vent crank but need another. this one looks like the window crank but halve the size with the cut out. im really sure there is someone out there knows if its possible to find them or i might have to use something else. thanks for reading this.
  5. i replaced front fenders and hood on a 58 corvette. the holes for the side spears are there so installing them was no problem. but there was not any holes for the flag emblems. the old fenders were damaged so could not locate holes for measurement. i have been searching and have not find on the 58. need info please so i can finish my project.
  6. while doing restoration work on a 1968 plymouth gtx,i purchased a master cylinder and booster assembly from jims auto parts. bad mistake. the booster will not release vacuum and because i contacted jims auto parts after 30 days of purchase, they were glad to be off the hook and not even interested in how one of their rebuilt boosters was not working. i recommend purchasing mopar parts anywhere but jims auto parts. so anyone has an idea of what im missing or do i need buy another booster from someone else. thanks bobby
