  1. Thanks for Big Flats web site, have just looked at it. The air hammer sounds the way to go. Cheers
  2. Thanks for that, Do you know where I could get new replacement rivets from? I have had a look on a number of sites but can't seem to track any down. Cheers Ian
  3. Hi All My fast four aft mounts on the front spring are loose in the chassis. The rivets have stretched. Have people come across this problem before? What is the best solution to fix this problem? Many Thanks Ian
  4. Hi Robert Thanks, that's great. I luckily have a friendly Engineer with folders and he thinks he can make a new set if I have the correct measurements. Now I have the measurements I should be able to get them made here. Many Thanks Ian
  5. Hi All Would anyone be able to tell me the dimensions of the running board of a 128 series, 1928 fast four. Mine running boards are bent and I am not able to get a true measurement off them to make new ones. I can not find any literature on the car but that sounds like there is very little on the 128 and 129 series cars, I woulds love to know if anyone has any good book on the cars Many Thanks Ian
  6. Thanks Jim Locking pins were out, I had to get the pins pressed out, It took 8 ton of pressure to get them to move but they are out now, thank goodness. Thanks Ian
  7. Hi Bob Thanks, the axle is out of the car, so will put it in a press, I just didn't want to try a push them out the wrong way if they only went in one way and damage the axle and pins. That's great to know the pins can go either way. My first Dodge, so learning as I go. Many Thanks Ian
  8. Hi All, Could any one please tell me if the King pins on my 1928 fast four come out the top or the bottom of the Eye beam or does it not matter which way I try to remove them? I have been trying to get them to move for the last two day but have been unable to get them to move at all. Is there a secret to getting the King pins out? Many Thanks Ian
  9. Thanks Vern Yes, I was looking at getting a motor and gearbox shipped, but unfortunately I missed out on it. It is good to know what the weight is for the future. Many Thanks Ian
  10. Hi I am in Nelson, Your car looks more complete than mine. My car was stored in a barn since 1959 and has been on the road since then. A number of parts have been taken off it over the years (not to sure why) but is 85% complete. Engine is seized but is a good start for a re-build project over the next few years. Cheers Ian
  11. Hi Please, could anyone tell me the weight of a fast four engine and gear box? Many thanks Ian
  12. Hi Could anyone please tell me the weight of an fast four engine and gear box? Many thanks Ian
  13. Thanks very much, I have brought the one off ebay, It's a little hard to sourcing parts here as I am on the other side of the world in New Zealand. There's not a great amount of DB parts available here. Thanks again for all your help. Ian <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
  14. Does anyone out there in DB land know the dimensions of a 28 fast 4 Carburetor throttle body, Bolts between the intake manifold and steward carburetor. My one is missing altogether, I hope to reproduce one but would like it to look like the original. Thanks Ian <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
  15. Hi Can anyone please tell me if a Fast 4 carburetor throttle body is the same as a standard 6 throttle body and does anyone know where I could get a fast 4 throttle body from if standard 6 one is different. Cheers Ian <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
  16. Thanks M.R That's a great help, now making list of missing parts, hope to find some DB's parts and people parts in New Zealand. NZ
  17. Thanks very much for that. It's great to know when it was built and that the engine is original. The carburetor is missing the bowl. i think but I am new to this so will have to do some research on the carburetor. I don't know what the two studs are for, the front one on the exhaust has a cir-clip grove in it and the one on the intake has a slip pin hole in it, if anyone has any good ideas, i would like to hear them. The engine still turns over with the crank handle which is hopefully good. Can you tell me anything about the fan assembly for the front of the engine as it just seems to have a stud sticking out of the head and no fan parts came with the car. Please see photo's Thanks NZdodge <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
