Thanks for the info. have put a voltage stabilizer from 12v down to 5v and used a 38 ford speedo guts to get the Lincoln speedo working again. thanks for the help. geoff

can anyone tell me what to do to change from 6v to 12 volt on the fuel/oil/temp/bat gauges in a 39 cluster to read correct. thanks geoff

I am after the connector end bit that goes to the back of the speedo to fit to a new cable to as I have a turbo 700 auto to connect to an original speedo. want auto and overdrive,getting old and lazy. thought someone might have a broken cable they did not need and I could get the inner and outer bit on the speedo end. thanks geof

can someone tell me if the 39 ford speedo cable is the same as 39 LZ speedo cable,ie will it fit onto the speedo back. thanks geof

beltfed thanks for that, I am trying to do same as you. have sent newport engineering a detailed email tonight. I bought a 12v kit of them to fit the 42/48 cars thinking I had 48 towers and rods and want to change the wiper park position from the 48 park position to the 39 style. I now think I have 39 towers and rods (ebay item) that have had 1948 marked on them by mistake and have not found a 39 or 48 where I am in Australia to see the motor/rod/tower in each to see just what I bought on ebay. can you give me the distance from tower centre to tower centre on your 38 please also need the same for 46/48 as my car has no tower holes in it yet . will let you know what Newport comes up with. i have what I was told as 1942-1948 wiper towers and rods that connect to a new Newport motor for those years and want to fit that assembly if I can to work like the 1939 with the wiper blades parked in the centre. can someone tell me if the rods are the same on the 39 as the 42/ 48 just changed around and also the measurement from one tower centre to the other tower centre on the 39 and the 42/ 48 as my 39 has no holes in the cowel area. a pic or two of the 42/ 48 and a 39 motor/arm/tower assembly would be most helpful. thanks geoff
