  1. Thank you for the suggestions. Just to clarify, the magneto works and I get current and spark to the spark plugs. I just can't shut it off, it will not ground out. The yellow wire is connected to the kill switch and then to the car chassis. I will try and connect it directly to the chassis and bypass the kill switch to see if that is the problem. I was just wondering if I should be looking at something else as well. Thanks again. All the best, Mark N.
  2. Hello, I would appreciate any advice to help me understand how I can ground this Bosch DU 4 magneto. I have the wire connected from the ground terminal on the magneto to a kill switch and then to the car frame. When I go to crank the car I can't get it to ground out the spark plugs. I cleaned up the ground connection on the car frame down to the metal for good contact and I cleaned the other connections as well, but no luck. What am I doing wrong? Any thoughts would be appreciated. All the best, Mark N
  3. I have a couple of questions about a Bosch S 12 magneto switch that I would like to hook up. Can someone confirm that the wire from the Bosch DU 4 magneto would go to the post on the end of the switch. Is the other post on the cylinder of the body a ground. Does that get connected to the frame. Also how do you test to see if the switch is good. I hooked the positive from a six volt battery to the terminal at the end of the mag switch and hooked the negative to the ground post. I get a continuous circuit with the key both in and out. That does not seem correct. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. All the best, Mark N.
  4. The traffic control tower in the film does survive. It was located at the intersection of Broad and Market Street in Newark from the early 1920s until 1939 when it was moved to Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in Clifton, New Jersey. The cemetery enclosed the top portion and installed speakers to play music during funerals. Here is photograph of it. http://www.panoramio.com/photo/63845781 Mark N.
  5. Let me piggyback another question onto this. If I park my car, am I able to drive off the lot later in the day and then return a couple of hours later without having to pay again for parking. Thanks, Mark N.
  6. I came across this old Buick chassis. Can anyone provide me with more information on it. Thanks. Mark N.
  7. Hello, I need a pair of splash aprons fabricated for a 1914 white. I have photographs and can get the measurements for them, but I can't seem to find someone who will do this. The design is rather simple. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am in New Jersey. All the best, Mark N.
  8. Does anyone know what is left of the White Motor Company factory buildings in Cleveland, Ohio? It looks like several of the buildings, including the main office building, were demolished within the last several years. All the best, Mark N.
  9. Hello, Can anyone tell me what type of car this is? Thanks. All the best, Mark N.

    1924 Marmon

Thanks for the responses. I just thought it was an interesting car and that someone should save it. I see the ebay auction ended and no one placed an opening bid. All the best, Mark

    1924 Marmon

Hello, Has anyone seen the 1924 Marmon 7 passenger limousine on ebay. Its item number is 170811134585, or just search 1924 Marmon. Just curious what the thoughts are about this car. All the best, Mark
  12. Hello, Can anyone please tell me what type of car is pictured in the background. The photograph was taken around 1930 in Burlington, Vermont. If it helps, the building in the background was a funeral home. All the best, Mark N.
  13. Hello, I am trying to find measurements for a muffler for a teens era, White 3/4 ton truck. I need to know the diameter, overall length, outlet diameter, and body length. I have photographs of what they look like but no measurements. Thanks. Mark N.
  14. Thanks for the response. Its not a tail light, I have the other cowl light for the driver side of the car. It is my understanding that this light came from an early Packard Twin Six - 1915 - 1916. Did they use these lights on Packards from the late teens and early 1920s? Thanks, Mark N.
  15. Hello, Can anyone please tell me what years Packard used these types of cowl lights. Thanks. All the best, Mark N.
