Robert, mine is body color (verde green). I'm sure it was not re-painted
  4. You're welcome. Your thread has encouraged me to get moving finally on this project. I refer to it often!
  5. Photo 1- Air cleaner like new Photo 2 - Inside of valve cover Photo 3- NOS radiator splash pan installed Photos 4 and 6 -Valve train pretty clean! (this is how it looked after removing valve cover-no cleaning yet) Photo 5 - remains of old radiator splash pan (about what the floor and trunk pans look like)
  6. Thanks Rob and Robert!! Using your suggestions I was able to figure it out. Here are pix I took shortly after buying the car. Rough or what?? I will take and post some new pictures later
  7. Well I dug in today for the first time in the engine compartment. I pulled the air cleaner and valve cover. The air cleaner looked like new and actually had some clean oil in it. Under the valve cover, the valve train looked great as well, with hardly any sludge at all. Outside of the engine was a different matter-really dirty. Cleaned the passenger side of the engine today. No camera here presently. I'll take some pix later and TRY to post them.
  8. I tried the above but it said files were too large
  9. Hey John, I'm not too good w/posting pix:confused: I had some on an Image cave account at the top of this thread that disappeared off the face of the earth. I put these on photobucket-hope this works http://s1329.photobucket.com/user/1952super/library/?sort=3&page=1
  10. Picked up a NOS pan that covers the underseat heater motor off of e-bay for a great price. Still looking for a trunk pan. In the meantime, I bought a floor jack and 4- 4 ton jack stands so I can start other jobs on her (cleaning 60 years worth of sludge, getting her running, cleaning up small parts, etc. etc.) I also picked up a shop manual
  11. Pete-I saw these on e-bay. His measure just under 7 inches long. I measured on my car, and they were just under 7 1/2 inches hope this helps 1948 1949 1950 1951 1952 Buick Super Script Emblems All Mounting Posts 7" Long | eBay

  13. Welcome! Like Robert said, nobody makes them. I've been looking for over 2 years for one for my car. If I see a used one for a 4 dr. Special I'll let you know. Good luck to you!
  14. Congratulations!! Welcome to the club:cool:
  15. Best of luck w/her! Her's a battery box on e-bay (not mine), unsure if it will fit your special though http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buick-Battery-Tray-for-Long-6-Volt-Group-2E-Super-Roadmaster-1950-1951-1952-1953-/140925882302?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20cfd64fbe&vxp=mtr
  16. This thread is a huge inspiration to me, as the floors and trunk pan in my car are totally gone. At least I can see now that it CAN be done, and it WILL be done-Thanks again Bob
