I want to use an Optima Battery for use in my 47 Chrysler. At one time there was an abs box that had all the signs of a regular 6 volt battery with holes for the top connections. Does any body know where I my locate one?

Good Morning ! I have advertised a while ago about a Radio for a 1947 Chrysler. it does not work but the dials and glass are still in good shape. I dont want to throw it out if some body could use it. I did have it advertised for $55,00 US plus shipping, obviously thru no contacts this price might be out of line?? If there is any interest make me an offer.

I seem to be having difficulties using the auto choke. Up until a month ago I would depress the gas pedal about 2/3 of the way down and a few cranks the car would start. Unless I get under the hood and flip the choke up it dose not respond to the gas pedal routine. I found the lever on the auto choke very stiff to pull up. I cant see any restrictions causing this so I though I would
seek advise.

Bruce,
The outer "skin" was plastic over metal.
The plastic matched the color(s) of the radio grill, dash ends, etc.
Do you have a picture of yours that you can post here?

Joe, Thank you for your interest in the 47 Glove box door. After
reading your last reply am I to believe that all the doors for the glove boxes on the 47 chryslers were not made of metal but were plastic from the factory?

Joe,
The one that is on the car started to show signs of cracking in different spots after checking with a magnet it is obvious that it is a bondo door. If i could find one that is solid I would trash the one that is now there.

I have a 1947 Chrysler club coupe with fluid drive. I understand the checking of oil & adding of oil in the transmission but I am not so sure how to check the oil in the Fluid drive. If some one could give me the information on checking
the oil level on the fluid drive it would be appreciated.

Good Morning,
Thank you for the return e-mail. Just for some background, I am a member of the Vintage Car Club of Canada. I have been a member for approx 15 years. At present I have two old Cadillacs & am looking to get down to one car, because of space & age.!! I am looking particularlly for a 1941 Packard 160 or 180. I saw your ad but until someone pointed it out ,the ad was July 2009. I wanted to give you some background as I know there is a lot of scam artists out there.
Now to get down to some questions,if I may. You mention in your ad "very little to show"-- what would it take to bring it up to show quality? Can you give me info about the restoration (what was done)? How many miles since the restoration? Was all the mechanical part of the restoration? I would like to see more pictures if that is possible.
Regards

Jim, Re: 41 Packard
Thanks for the information I didn't pay attention to the date. However I have followed your instructions & e-mailed to see if the car is still for sale. At present I have a 1938 Cadillac 60S & a 1948 Cadill sedan. I just put the 60 Special up for sale.

Hi Jim, are you the owner of the 41 Packard? Is it still for sale?

I have viewed the pictures of your 41 Packard 160. You noted it is an older restoration, can you give me details of that restoration. Was this a full restoration, was the engine , transmission all rebuilt? What year was it restored & how many miless since the restoration. More pictures would be great.
