  1. Congragulations Dougie I also own a Reo and am a member of the Reo Royale forum. I own and operate a Restoration shop that specializes in prewar cars. As you embark on this journey with your dads car please feel free to Pm or email me any technical questions you encounter.

  2. If you are moving a car in BC and Washington I can help. I own a Restoration shop and do all of our own enclosed transport. the only other guys i use is a trucking company called AirGroup Express. the are not a dedicated car hauler but the do the best job I have seen. I have had or seen cars moved by all the major transporters some ok some a nightmare. they have trucks running all over the west coast. Good Luck

  3. No need to wait. I live in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. This will not be my first full classic. I have a number of cars you can see some of them on my face book page under " vintage rod shop" we get to play with some really great cars. Please note we also have a bunch of pics from my trip to the ACD museum last fall. These of course are not mine :)

  4. Yes it has the scalloped hood. This car has a restored chassis and drivetrain, new oak bows, all the chrome done, gauges restored, wheels powder coated and new firestone tires. It needs some wood repair from dry rot and bodywork and paint plus new upholstery and canvas top. What would you say is market value for a finished restored car. Not a pebble style restoration but a nice complete nut and bolt restoration for a driver quality car?

  5. It was close to that. they could load them all in one forty foot sea can. It was a 1886 Benz Patent Motorwagon, A 1931 Mercedes 370k and a 1934 Mercedes 290 cab a.

Due to the value of the cars i purchased additional insurance on the shipment. I believe the door to door transport costs from the auction house to my driveway worked out to about 5000.00 Canadian and the insurance was a additional 5000.00. all things considered I was very pleased when everything was said and done.

  6. Has anyone located parts suppliers for the prewar cars? The Classic Center is no help. The 1940 320 is back on the road.

If you send me a pm with contact info I can help you with who we used for some of the small stuff. We have a 1931 370 and a 1934 290.

I am not sure who in texas used to own this car, But I am pretty positive this is a old picture of my Reo I bought last fall.

  8. Not Bad for a couple posts and two phone calls. I have to say being young I am spoiled in having the internet at my finger tips. I sure it was a lot harder having to write letters and drive all over the country for parts and leads. Thank you everyone who has contributed to giving me information to help with my cars.
