Anyone?

In a bin of stuff I bought I have an "Allstate Two-Pole flush mounting trailer connector". What period and type of trailer would use this?
-
I did some searches on the internet and see other examples, but no knowledge of where they come form. Anyone know where these glass coils came from?

It is a 1909/1910 Model T carb.

Finally got the carb from my Dad so we can ID it. More info, the mounting holes are 2 1/8" center to center. The hole to intake is 1 1/8" in diameter. the number on it is 110753.

Restoring Uncle Henry's 1932 Model B Tudor
jim5618 replied to jim5618's topic in Our Cars & Restoration Projects
SO I pulled the horn rod out and cleaned and replaced the spring. Hopefully I can get it back in with out bending it. In a Tudor you can just barely get it out. I hear in a coupe it has to go through the roof or take the back window out. Once I got it apart, I realized I only needed to slide it up a foot or two and could have disassembled it with the rod still in. Would have been a pain though. -
I guess now that I look at it, if the logo was straight up and down the opening would point towards the driver.
-
This is how it was installed... of course who knows if it was installed correctly. it looks like some panel was attached over the top holes. It looks very similar to a south wind. Anyone know what that panel looks like?

Need Auto Shipper Recommendations NV to NJ---Modern Car
jim5618 replied to Harold's topic in General Discussion
Depending on where he is in the country or how soon you need to move try Enclosed Ford Transport -
OK I am assuming this is similar to a southwind as the look almost identical except for the logo. on the top there is an open area that looks like maybe it had an attachement for a defroster, or to push heat to the other side of the car? Is this correct and are there any illustrations on what attached to this area on top?

So are these "a dime a dozen" and not worth listing as is? I hate to toss anything old.
-
Here you go, basically I am trying to decide if it is worth sending with my 32 mirror to get re-silvered then list it. Seems like a nice original mirror based on the rounded corners.
-
I have a simple rectangular mirror with beveled edges 2 1/2" by 6". It is NOT for the car I found it in (32 Ford). My simple research seemed to show it as too long for a Model A? Any ideas what it is from?

Restoring Uncle Henry's 1932 Model B Tudor
jim5618 replied to jim5618's topic in Our Cars & Restoration Projects
So good news, found someplace local to move the car to so I can make better progress....bad news, something in the wiring fried out, smoke in the cab and everything....good news, I already have a new harness from Tyree to put in. Photo one, loaded up for the trip (yes that is a real Muffler Man in the back ground). Photo Two, checking out the Gettysburg site for the 2014 Early Ford V8 eastern meet. -
Restoring Uncle Henry's 1932 Model B Tudor

Latest progress on the B. Interior is done as far as I am going this time. Keeping the original headliner as it is all there and has one small tear (and I am not looking to tackle putting the newer one in). Floors from Roy. Original tranny cover and cup cover. Rebuilt shocks by Bill and 5 new tires and tubes from universal tire (Goodrich). Dad and I changed the tires by and. Not fun (and I clocked myself in the head with the tire iron once) but not that complicated. Only issue is the 18.5 tires do not fit in my spare tire strap so I am leaving the strap off for now. -
need advice on preserving a Plate topper (Paint)
jim5618 replied to jim5618's topic in General Discussion
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the advice. In a couple of years I will be worrying about the one point deductions. Right now it would need to be torn down and repainted and a new interior to begin to get close to an award. -

need advice on preserving a Plate topper (Paint)
jim5618 replied to jim5618's topic in General Discussion
If I am down to worrying about the one point deductions I will be doing good. how many points off if one side of the engine is black and the other is green? I am not a collector of plates, just wanted a cool period correct one for the car. If my wife don't catch me she has olive oil in a hand pump bottle..... I don't care about original etc, just like it to look old. -
I got this plate topper for my car (1932) and would like to maintain it in it's current "patina". I heard somewhere the idea of spraying patina with flat clear to preserve it.... in this case wouldn't the flaking paint still peel off? I don't want to cover it plastic or any thing. Any suggestions?

Repeal 18th amendment Plate Topper
jim5618 replied to jim5618's topic in Automobiles and Parts - Buy/Sell
Yeah but I run out of patience. In completed they go from $100 to $200 then when I am after one, someone bids it up to an insane price. I don't like to take 3 months do get a decent price on an item.
