There was a fluid called "Dexron/Mercon" is "Mercon" the same or ok to use? My local Napa had some many types of fluids but all the Dexron types were synthetic... I am going to look at other shops, just thought I would ask about the "straight Mercon"

Any tips for body-on fuel line install--50/early 50s bodies
72gs455 replied to beerczar1976's topic in Buick - Post War
Here is my 2 cents... I have the body off of my 54 and the pre-bent line from inline isn't as close as they tell ya over the phone. the second one they sent me is at least bent the correct direction... I am cleaning and reusing my original. -
I don't know if there are any left but check this out at V8Buick dot com http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?227318-Update-70-72-A-body-LED-Tailights Edit: adding link Here is another option, but seems spendy https://digi-tails.com/buick/skylark-gran-sport/1972

I do not have access to my 72 today and I cant remember how many screws there are. I do remember I had 1 that was warped from age/heat or what ever reason. it is a tight fit, maybe you could try another forum, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it here...

I wondered the same thing, but I took for granted they both from 1980 when I read "they must have been garage kept from 1980!"

Anyone need fuel and brake lines for a54 Buick?
72gs455 replied to 72gs455's topic in Buick - Post War
Looks like the second brake line set they sent is going to work out well. Fuel line not so much... im sure the mustang sets drop right in. -
I'm sure everyone else thought it (it, being your moniker) was in reference to Harley Earl, I did! Which seems acceptable as well...

If the "other guy" doesn't want it, put it on my list, I wrecked mine on disassembly...

Don't advertise that you have parts until I have everything I need...

Anyone need fuel and brake lines for a54 Buick?
72gs455 replied to 72gs455's topic in Buick - Post War
Well that is the problem... Inline tube thought they were for my 4 door super, once they had my pictures they knew what was wrong. He wouldn't or couldn't tell me what they should fit, my hope is someone will look at the photos, ask for more angles of photos and think they will work on their car. Then hopefully they would want to buy the full set of brake and fuel lines for $100 + shipping. I get my required set at the full price and they get their set for less than half price. from the way the fuel line is bent it looks like it was on the passenger side. -
So I ordered my lines from inline tube and they came wrong, After a little back and forth, Chuck from Inline found the correct ones for my model 52. he says they are the same for the small body. I had to pay an additional $100 bucks to get the correct lines. they are going to work perfectly. I will try to attach pictures of both my old lines and the wrong ones that were sent to me. Inline tube does not want them back. if someone can use them make me an offer and I will send them to you! All fuel and brake lines Here are pictures of my original lines and the wrong ones they sent me.
