I too visited this museum in March. Spent 4+ hours there and I don't think I saw it all. Took lots of pictures though. Something to look at during those cold winter days here in Colorado. I'll be back down in Ocala this next March and I will plan on another afternoon there. SOOOO much to see !!!! Mike in Colorado

I use Penzoil "Synchromesh" oil (in the yellow bottle). in my '31 CG. Sure looks like 90-140 weight. Going up thru the gears is easy and quiet. Coming back down, I have to double clutch. Mike in Colorado

The "jumbo" rear tires gives it a nice rake. Probably a poor man's overdrive. I wonder if the RH side mount has a front tire in it ? Mike in Colorado

Neil, Have you checked the vacuum switch on the carb ? Sometimes they get sticky, (intermittent) before they quit altogether. Mike in Colorado

I can cruise at 30 - 35 comfortably in my '31 Imperial eight. At 45 things get real busy, and the fan noise takes over. My brakes have new linings and cylinders, but it takes looking well ahead to motor safely. Mike in Colorado

Why in the world would you use brass ? Ron Carp in California re-sleeves brake and master cylinders with seamless stainless steel tubing. Had my '40 Buick LTD done 6 years ago and not a drop from any of them. Cost was VERY reasonable. Mike in Colorado

Matt, When I shortened mine, I brazed a 2" section that would be the new end first, then cut it to length with a 4" grinder, and then ground the end square to fit in the Tx. Mike in Colorado

Ken, Give her TWO courses of dawn and hot water (by running her) to de-oil the insides. Add 2 gallons of Evap-o-rust and drive her. I works better when it's warm. You can store it with Evapo in her if you want. I did that to my '40 Buick and it sat in the barn all winter with the Evapo in it. Got so clean that I ended up having to replace all the frost plugs in the spring. But I could see inside, and it was squeaky clean, even in the back where the crud tends to accumulate. But she runs cool now.......... Mike in Colorado

Yup, 8 years later. My how time fly's . Here is my installation and yes, 8 years later and lots of miles too, it still looks like this. I do believe it has done it's job keeping the heat down in the bay and by the M/C. Went from the base of the exhaust manifold all the way back past the master cylinder and to the "X" member of the frame. Used radiator clamps about every 8" just to make sure it did not unravel. So far every thing is still in place. Mike in Colorado

Seeing their picture of components, at $260.00 for the kit, i would jump on it. If you call them, get a couple of previous customers names and check them out. Matt, I feel your pain regarding "new" cars. Ruth drives an '02 Dodge Grand Caravan with 265K on the clock. Other than tires, and brake pads, (which i did) she has not spent a hundred dollars on her car since we bought it in '04, w/ 36K on the clock She would not trade it for the world ! My driver is a '14 Chrysler T&C with 105K on her now, purchased in '18 with 31K on the clock. I would not even consider anything newer than a 2015 from any make!!!! So your solution is to take that black thing behind your new car, send it to Dave Kindig, get an LS-1, a 9 speed auto Tx, add disk brakes, and bag the 4 corners, and drive the crap out of it ! Here in Colorado, we did get away with one car show this year. Called it a "peaceful protest". Imperial did good last year. No awards given this year, so it was not a "show". Mike in Colorado

Taylormade, Any decent panel beater / blacksmith with a pair of tin snips, a grinder and a Dremmel tool could knock this out in an hour or so. Why not make your own ? Mike in Colorado

Keefer, I did mine similar to Bill's. Used one of the short rubber fender mount types, and mounted it under the fender just ahead of the sidemount, using it's support bracket. No one has found it yet, and we've been to several car shows this summer with a lot of lookers. Mike in Colorado

I did some welding on Steve McQueen's dune buggy back in the summer of '68 when he was racing them at Ascot Park in Gardena, Ca. He introduced me to James Garner who was racing a jeep that night.
