  1. Found this while waking up. Hoping it doesn't involve his property (again).

50,000 urged to evacuate as Australia floods declared national disaster (msn.com)

Australia's Bureau of Meteorology said since July 1, parts of the state have received almost 27.5 inches of rain with expectations that it to continue as the storm works its way north over the eastern coast. The bureau has issued a severe weather warning for the mid-north coast until Wednesday, stating up to 3.5 inches could fall in six-hour periods. It also lashing the coast with winds at about 60 mph.

"This is the fourth flooding event we have seen in some of these areas ... in the last 18 months," the prime minister said. "My heart goes out to people who have suffered again and against and again and again."

    Whats this one?

"Shes the terror of Colorado Blvd". or something similar.

You might be thinking of Highwayman with Waylon, Kris K., Willie and Johnny Cash

"A place called Boulder on the wild Colorado"

Another forgotten one is "Key to the Highway" by Led Zeppelin on Zepp III album. A little to obscure to enjoy on the road though.

Save it for a 70's bar crawl ;)

However, Mark Knoplfers "Long Highway" is an epic listen on a cool desert night when it's just you and the road at 2 am.

There are roughly two types of truck people: Those who's interest are the 'light' trucks, 1/4 to 1-ton, including vans, panels, etc., which can park inside a garage, and can legally park on the street in a residential neighborhood . And there are those who like the 'big rigs', from 1-1/2 ton, which include long-wheelbase or tractor units, conventional and cabovers, which usually require a barn, or high-roof garage to keep park them inside. And sometimes a challenge is to legally park them on a residential street.

    Craig

    So true.

Don't forget to add, shoestring budget vs very deep pockets.

I'd love to get into the big trucks, but financially it's a completely different ballgame.

Those that save the big trucks are to be commended for their passion and extreme dedication that few have.

I came across this 1930 Fargo....Apparently a division of Chrysler according to the tags.  I would love to drive this (with a new windsheild and tires) but I am guessing it's top speed is probably 30.

Wish he had better close ups of the grill and hubcaps. Although a very slow and rough truck, I doubt we'll ever see another more complete example of a 1930 1 ton in our lifetime. Only the radiator cap and horn ring are missing from what I can tell.

This was a wild trip towing my '31 Dodge from Detroit to San Diego via the upper peninsula of Michigan with a U-Haul hitch.

Interesting to think what the cost for that same trip had it been done today.

At 2342 miles (San Diego to Detroit scenario) fuel alone would be around $12k.

My guess is at the time it would have been closer to $1000-$1500.

I bet you'd still do it all over again though. ;)

Looks like a 1933 Plymouth by the look of those hub caps, but looks like a Dodge taillight.

Any idea what the production totals were on those? Just hoping some survived

  7. Clearly a sad time when some of these agents/auctioneers were profitting off of farmers down on their luck but the body style is very interesting as I don't recall seeing many Dodge sedan deliveries.

Would you guys suggest this is a 1933 DP?

I guess its just a fantasy.

    We all have em.

I like to be different, just like everyone else.

It did dawn on me that I have a G and an O. I guess all I need is the FAR.

I did have a response a couple of weeks ago, but not meant to be I guess.

I have a second set of original DODGE letters that I would throw in the deal. They are not mint.

Not to change the subject, but one of us seems to have changed his name to 'Guest'. What's that about. Banned for life?

Try and offer to buy just the letters from this guy for a price that may make it worth it for him to ship them to you? Never know, he may be willing to sell just the parts you need, doesn't hurt to ask. Disclaimer, no affiliation with seller and unsure if the post is still live (not familiar how Kijiji works).

As for the lifetime ban, "hall cops gone wild 20.22 version" is enlightening to say the least ;)

It's obvious a ban is a joke because their are ways around it but anything to stroke those egos I suppose...

I'd like to see Steve make it mandatory that they take meditation and yoga classes followed by how to deal with your emotions classes.

Some of them need medicated, I'm convinced of it. Either medication or work in the real world for a year to bring em down a notch.
Blanket party shouldn't be out of the question, I'll provide the quilts, we're gonna need quite a few.

Good luck finding the letters, I hope you post an update if you find some.
    Cool idea

  9. A ton of money in the building and maintenence alone I'm sure, I do like the fact they drive and race them and have them that clean, I'd have great respect for them too.

I'm surprised no one likes the COPO.

It's weird for me because I don't even like Camaros or the color green but that car is amazing. Would love to drive it once to see how it drives.

The white Chevy is a 1965. Headlight surround is 1965, and front upper tip of front fender is 1965.  Not in that pic but the rear cove moulding, aluminum; you can't see the round taillights in the angle of those pics.

    I stand corrected. Good eye!

Any one know what this jack is out of.

Seriously though, it looks like a Dreadnaught made by Automotive Specialties out of St Joseph MI (I really do need one for my truck if it's a No 951).

Does it have anything like that on the side in raised letters?

IF so, then there are probably many different makes and models that used it in their tool kit.

    a 67 Impala,

    I believe that's actually a 66.
It was my first car so whenever I see one I go right to the tail lights to make sure. You can barely catch a glimpse of the side tail light. 67 the lights didn't wrap around.

    Great shot!
