I agree with Dave. The numbers are good but sometimes we may not know the numbers but recognize the shape and design by something we have in inventory.

24 Dodge Ute. Finished after 43 years

Father and Son project? Now THAT is what the hobby is all about! We can only imagine the memories they both have now... Awesome job gentleman! I love everything about it, but especially the subtle touches (natural wheels, highlighted rim bolts, front lights, running board display etc..) Absolutely stunning! -

Probably a more recent photo made to look antique, but I believe it's worthy of a place here as one can see the European nostalgia on display. -

Back on topic with another Duesenberg. Probably posted already, but just in case. The early Duesenberg masterpieces never get old... 1921 Duesenberg Model A Belonged to the Same Family for Almost a Century (thedrive.com) -

You probably already read it but for those that haven't clicked on the Wiki link that John posted above. (Although I don't see the aluminum safety ring or flange mentioned in the Wiki article in the photo above?) EDIT: Looking closer, if we zoom in we can barely see the ring or flange on the inside of the wheel " In 1929, Michelin built its first rail car, and by 1932 nine of its cars were in operating service, all of which featured innovative and distinctive pneumatic tires. The company claimed that its application of tires on its rail cars afforded both a substantially more cushioned ride and increased the cars' traction by 35%. The design of Michelin's tired wheels included an aluminum safety ring and a flange that were only used in the event of a puncture or other type of tire failure; during normal operation, only the rubber tire made contact with the rail.[2]" More here nine early rail cars by michelin - Search Images (bing.com) RAIL-CARS ON RUBBER TYRES (railfan.net) -

Sticking with railcars for a moment.... Of all the McKeen cars, this one sporting finished rims up front is something I hadn't seen before on a railcar. -

If you have a lot of them maybe consider putting them on a thumb labeled "random car work". You never know who might be interested or be looking for that one thing. You may not recognize it now but someone might later... Great topic and I hope to see all of us in the hobby take these things more seriously and continue to improve on all of our organizational skills. If anything, it will help those going through our estate years later to know what to do with all the random car stuff we have in our shops and on our computers.

I did that with family stuff quite a few years back (used a local AZ company also) and my kids and other family were shocked when I popped in the DVD at Christmas one year. None of them had any idea I did it (didn't even tell my wife), but the memories and laughs it created for years to come are priceless for all of us. Same rules are applying to my automotive work as well with the use of thumb drives and what ever else comes in the future. Save everything! You never know when or who will need it.

Couple of other pieces that might come into play later. The tool on topic could be from any of these eras. -

Still looking for years this tool may have been initially used, but I found some details in addition to oil related that might lend clues based on the raised alpha-numeric system (see description below). Also, they have quite a history of tool catalogs that might help. Non-Sparking, Non-Magnetic, Corrosion-Resistant: The Ampco EW58S-I is made from aluminum bronze, which ensures it won’t create sparks in hazardous environments. Additionally, it is non-magnetic and resistant to corrosion. MRI Environment Compatibility: Independently tested, the Ampco EW58S-I poses no risk in MRI environments using a static magnetic field of 3-Tesla and a maximum spatial gradient magnetic field of 720-Gauss/cm or less. It conforms to ASTM F2503 standards1. -
Do you recognize this side mirror and bracket from your inventory? I realize I could have one made, but I'm hoping someone has the original parts. If so, please shoot me a PM with photos and condition and I'll make it worth your while. It was used on 1928-1932 Dodge Brothers trucks possibly other years and makes. Thanks Dave
