  1. Thank you everyone who responded. The wheels have been rebalanced and I can drive 70 MPH with no vibration issues.
  2. Several years ago I purchased a set of the very rare optional Dunlop wire wheels for my 1978 Buick Riviera LXXV. I had to have the wire wheels repaired as some of the spokes were either broken or missing. I had a reputable shop repair them. I then took them to a Big O Tires shop to have American Classic white wall tires mounted and balanced on them. I had the tech install tubes inside the tires with baby powder. Ever since they were installed on the Riv, while drive 55+ MPH, the car starts to vibrate significantly. It seems as though they were not balanced correctly. Does anyone know what maybe the issue?
  3. I have a 1978 Buick Riviera LXXV and I need to replace the brake lines. I am looking at Wilwood's stainless steel brake lines. They need the exact dimensions for replacing the two old rubber front brake lines as well as for replacing the old rubber rear center brake line. For the front brake lines, I heard that it is a female 3/16" threaded connection to the hard brake line. I am trying to find out if this is true and what is the size of the banjo that connects to the front calipers. I also need the dimensions for the rear center brake line please. I have looked in my factory service manual and I can't find any information on the dimensions of the brake lines. I hope someone out there has the answers.
  4. How do I receive the most recent copy of the Riview?
  5. Thanks! Would that be the 2015 issue of Riview? And no, it is not specific to the LXXV for the interior piece.
  6. Does anyone know a good source for interior trim on a 1978 Buick Riviera LXXV? I need one piece of stainless trim next to where the right rear passenger would sit. Right below the opera window. I'd appreciate any help. Thank you. -Graig
  7. Hello! I have a 1978 Buick Riviera LXXV (75th Anniversary) car. I am currently restoring it. Does anyone know where I can find these NOS parts and at the best prices? This what I am looking for: Tiffany extra plush gray carpet set (NOS or good match), NOS 1978 Riviera black front floor mats with Riviera logo, NOS power antennae, NOS quartz clock or somewhere I can get mine fixed, NOS interior stainless trim, NOS outside rear side fixed window stainless trim (between window and vinyl top). I am missing the stainless trim above the armrest on the passenger side in the back seat area below the fixed side window. Just curious if anyone has good sources for these parts. Thanks!
  8. You wouldn't by chance still have these wheels, would you? I just saw the post.
  9. Looks awesome!!! That red engine with the blue paint goes so well together!!!!!
  10. Nice car!!! Great heart-warming story! Keep it in the family! Don't sell it! That is what is what I am doing with my grandparents 1978 Buick Riviera LXXV. I wish I still had there '68 Riv as well! They sold it when I was only 7 years old. I didn't have a say in the matter, but at least I have the '78!
  11. Looks good, but looks can be deceiving. Make sure that you do a compression test on the motor and run a magnet along the body for any hidden bondo (body filler). Check for frame damage and test drive the car to make sure the transmission shifts properly. Check the oil to make sure it is amber in color. Don't hesitate to crawl under car to do inspection of rust, worn out bushings, oil, trans. leaks, etc.

  13. I recently purchase a fiberglass bumper filler for the driver's rear side from Action Auto Wreckers in Massapequa, NY. They are fiberglass and about $199.00 each. You have to paint it to match your car once you get it. Their phone number is: 800.562.8811 or Used Engines Gas and Diesel. I hope that this helps!
