  2. '53 Buicks have the slot at (end) of the covers. The lower cover is for the left side of a '54- '56 (the slot on top). If, that upper cover has the slot on the end, it is '53. The upper cover is for the right side. they'll both fit your '53. Correct for '53, is the slot on the rear. Correct for '54 - '56, is the slot on top

  4. When you let off the parking brake; Reach down with your hand and gently pull up the pedal lever. This is what I have to do once in a while on mine when the switch sticks....

  9. you need to get a copy of the '55 shop manual. There are copies on EBay print and on CD. When My camera is handy i'll take a picture (and post it here) of the shop manual section on filling the shocks. .... you'll need to clean off the top of the shock real good. Get all the dirt off there.

  11. The shocks on mine are the factory shocks. They've been rebuilt twice, now. Yours probably need rebuilding. Or it could be they are low on fluid.........

  17. Our Buicks had lever double action shocks from the factory. I have the factory supplied shocks on mine. The normal procedure is to rebuild the shocks. Your shocks being absent makes this problematic... The price of a pair of lever double acting shocks is shocking !! Or, you could go the route of converting to telescoping shocks (as used on '56 Buicks) But, after the required modifications for Lever shocks to telescoping shocks the cost might even be more....
  18. When it stops leaking it means your out of fluid. Seriously, I've got mine down to three or four drips a week

  22. I understand your desire for a dual master cylinder. We know now that, Your brake lines are something smaller than 1" And Your brake linings are something larger than 1" I have posted links to others that have gone the dual cylinder route. Good luck to you, Bulldog
